Well done Andy. After a month out with no match practice Andy bounced back with a three set win over the big Croatian boy, Cilic. Great result for Andy and is fine practice for the upcoming Wimbers. I really think Andy will win Wimbers, although there will be fierce competition from a rejuvenated Nadal, Federer, Djokovic, Tsonga, Cillic and a few others. It was so wonderful to then see Andy taking part in a light hearted match partnering Timmy Henman against his coach Ivan and some other bloke whose name escapes me. It was so funny when Andy blootered the tennis ball off Ivan and celebrated. It's times like this that restores your faith in humanity and generally engenders a feel-good factor. Go Andy, go!!! The whole of Britain is right behind you. P.S. Watch out for the upcoming documentary on Andy on the Beeb on 23rd June. This will highlight just what a great sense of humour the boy has off court.
Was actually surprised Edge had commented on something on the tennis board. I did watch the tennis though. Was utterly boring until Murray started playing well. The charity stuff at the end was a nice touch.
It will take some effort to prevent this from being the thread of the week. Andy is an exceptional talent who is maturing and improving by the day. He has every chance of winning Wimbledon this year though if I was a betting man i'd say that, as with last year, his best hope of doubling his major count will be in New York in September. In an era where the beahaviour of so many sportsmen leaves a lot to be desired Andy is a shining beacon of everything that is good.
Yes, I agree entirely. And he is such a down to earth bloke as well. No airs or graces. I'm sure deep down Toby holds an erection for him, maybe not his own but an erection all the same.
I don't agree with the honours system but I do think it is inevitable that we will be hailing Sir Andy murray in a few years time. I cannot think of anyone more deserving.
Andy is so modest he would probably turn it down and ask for it to be awarded to some spastic somewhere.
