Wasn't Saylor's dad his agent? If so.. there may be legs in this.
We are entering the Winter season and injuries will happen so the lad will get his chance.
It's just poor timing with the momentum we have right now.
I smell a London hack trying to stir a little bit of ****...

    http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/356029/Newcastle-get-Coloccini-boost-but-Taylor-wants-out

FABRICIO COLOCCINI has given Newcastle United a major lift in declaring himself happy at the club, but Steven Taylor's agent says he needs to play some competitive football.

Coloccini, Newcastle United, Coloccini is settled at Newcastle now and has no plans to leave.

The Argentine was desperate to leave the Toon and return to his boyhood club San Lorenzo, but it looks like Alan Pardew has won the fight to keep hold of his number one center back.

San Lorenzo would have struggled to afford the player's wages and Newcastle were reluctant to sell, so the 31-year-old ended up staying.

And now he insists he has no thoughts of leaving.

Coloccini said: "At the beginning of the year, due to some personal problems, I had the chance to return to Argentina."

"It was spoken about playing in San Lorenzo because I support that team.

"I am currently very happy at Newcastle - I have three more years on my contract.

"While I keep on being useful for my team on the pitch, I will keep on playing."

“I am currently very happy at Newcastle - I have three more years on my contract”

While Coloccini is happy, Taylor, once a mainstay of the Toon's defence, hasn't been in any of Pardew's last six squads, despite being fit.

The last time he featured was the opening day defeat by Man City.

It is clear that Taylor is not in the managers plans and could be allowed to leave on loan or at a knock-down price of around £1.5m.

The player's agent, Willie McKay, said: "Steven is now fully fit, but he is frustrated not to be playing as that is what he loves doing."

"He has not been involved for the last six games and of course it is frustrating.

"Steven fully understands that the team have been on a good winning run and the manager does not want to change a winning team.

"Joe Kinnear has promised Steven a new deal in January and he could be made available for loan if he is not going to be playing for Newcastle."

Fecks me off, this. It's like Newcastle aren't allowed to have a couple of good players in reserve. We've all berated the board for some selling decisions, but you have to wonder how much stirring goes on for those not in the first XI.

I'm not surprised, to be honest. Didn't do himself many favours making silly mistakes and getting sent off in his first game of the season. Since then everyone else has jumped ahead of him in the pecking order. Even Williamson, who must of us had written off before the start of the season, has really stepped up and prevented Saylor from getting back into the team.

I think letting him go though - even on loan - would be a terrible choice. With our history of injury problems we're never more than a match or a training session away from losing our first choice defenders. As backup, Taylor is a superb option to have right now and I would not let him go without at least signing one replacement.

Tough tittie for me. Saylor needs to take a leaf out of Willos book and look to take a chance that comes his way. His current situ is of his own making.

All that said, this is Willie KcKay we are talking about..........................

I'm a big fan of Taylor's but Willo can't be dropped after the performances he's been putting in of late. He's been a Colossus!

If Saylor or his agent doesn't like it they can **** off with my compliments. The guy is a liability - always has and always will be. He is fifth choice at CB as far as I'm concerned.

I do like him because one thing you can say for sure is he hives a committed performance when he does play. but he is at least behind colo willo and mym and maybe even dummet which is not good considering he is supposed to be a LB. I find you are just biting your nails all game waiting for him to do something daft. He basically just doesn't cut it.

Got to say I would have Saylor on the pitch at CB in front of Dummett, every day of the week.

Also, who picks Willie MacKay as their agent, what a piece of work the man is.

Willo on current form is 1st choice centre back , colo , Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa , then s taylor

S taylors injury record is not the best, only has himself to blame with ridiculous red card.

Which of the top teams would want him ? if he leaves I think it would be to a team fighting relegation

Taylor can't kick snow off a foot path so he shouldn't be anywhere near the first team.

If he had clown shoes on he would have a better chance.
Or if he strapped snow shovels to his feet.
