I think many on here have very short memories. Personally, whilst many on here seem more than happy to slag Colo off, I for one will remember the good times... both of them.
I musta missed the other one. Hey, I've got even better news - I just remembered we have Aarons. (or was i the only one who forgot?)
It's obviously time he went on his way. Eight years service, must seem like a lifetime in this nuthouse. Best wishes from me. Good to see fans being so gracious towards him.....
Long overdue, but you can't blame him for taking up the offer of a contract extension when the club were daft enough to offer him one. I have no doubt that Steven Taylor would have stayed too if it was on the table, despite the fact that neither of them have much to offer anymore. That said Colo has given the club eight years of service, and has been a good servant. It's just a shame he stayed past his best, that will always cloud an otherwise positive stay on Tyneside. He wants to go home and l for one say thanks and good luck. Adios Colo.
A good servant who I wish well. Definitely the right time and sadly never fulfilled the obvious ability he had. Only had two really good seasons being honest. I do wonder if we'd managed to put a proper defender alongside him earlier how good he could have been for us. The problem would still have been his fitness record. I think its a bit uncalled for to be having a pop.
Atorcious in his first season, looked like a Caucasian Boumsong, but great in the Championship and the 3 years after that in the Prem. Last 3 years went rapidly downhill though, and has been plain awful for the last 2 seasons. We'll have memories of some great defending and that volley against Spurs, but the simple fact is he's well past in now, and he needed to go if we're going to move forward. .So long Colo, plenty of good memories and plenty of bad, enjoy winding down your career with your beloved bunch of Argy mickey mouse nobodies.
A lot of people have short memories. After a ropey start he did well for us and was our best defender for a few years. He would probably have been remembered a lot more fondly if he had left a couple of years ago, but after all the moaning we do about mercenaries disappearing as soon as an alternative came along, I think we should thank him for his service and wish him all the best for the future. Lots of fond memories. Thank you and good luck Colo!
Not a bad bloke. Can't believe Charnley's still at the club, who - in my opinion - is actually responsible for any ill-feeling towards Colo for offering a contract that simply wasnt needed.
Got overpaid for a long time. Was decent for about two seasons. Shouldn't be much sympathy for him really. He was one of these players who got comfortable at a middling club on a fat cheque so he never pushed himself.
His move back to San Lorenzo is a little overdue and he recognized it before the club did so good luck to him in Argentina. PS I have used this forum as Nobby's Trumpet but have had much trouble accessing it, thankfully I remembered the email to the account I'm using now which is fortunate. Does anybody know how I can change my username?
There have been two Nobby's Trumpets on here, and I think they are two different people. Were you the one posting last season or the one who was here when we first moved over? I think some of the old usernames were lost when the forum moved over to the new format. It will depend which one you were whether you can change back to the old name.
I was the one who had Nobby and a trumpet in his avatar, there was also a burgundy background in it I believe.
It is indeed. I tried to change the email on it and from then on I've never been able to get into it.
