Toon skipper shocks colleagues by blowing his top after defeat at Stoke that makes it 11 defeats in their last 16 league matches

Newcastle skipper Fabricio Coloccini let rip in a dressing room rant - with boss Alan Pardew coming in for most of the stick.

Centre-half Coloccini was furious after Saturday's defeat at Stoke, adding to the woes for the Toon in the past few weeks.

And the Argentinian let his feelings flood out with a tirade against the way the team, who have lost four games on the spin and 11 of their last 16 league matches, is playing - and how Pardew is managing.

Coloccini shocked team-mates with his blast, but he is the second Newcastle player to have words with the Magpies' manager - still banned from the touchline after headbutting Hull's David Meyler - in the last week.

Hatem Ben Arfa erupted at Pardew in the previous game - a 4-0 home loss to Manchester United - and was left on the bench at the Britannia.

Ben Arfa’s verbal attack is pushing him even further out of the door but Coloccini is a key and popular player, despite repeated links with a transfer home to Argentina, making the situation hard for Pardew.

I'd rather have Colo here than Pards.

Good on Colo but should have been said weeks ago and as we can see Pardew has lost the players respect.

You really have to admire them as vultures really. They haven't even bothered with the usual "source" such is the weakness of their prey.

He stormed off the pitch without acknowledging the fans or other players on Saturday. I think it's true.

Just read Colo's interview, I think there may have been words exchanged. But reading behind his interview, you'd have to think his tirade was aimed at certain players not Pardew. "We know we have achieved our objective of finishing top ten, but we are playing the Newcastle shirt on and we have to respect that" That seems to infer he knows what we all do, certain players are not putting in 100%.

I think we all know who those players are. For me:-

Gouffran, Sissoko [before injury], HBA, Marveaux, Santon, Mbiwa and Shola are the biggest culprits.

But Colo's been bad, which is why for me it points at Pardew.

His performances have been suspect in a couple of games, but the one thing I'd say in his defence, he looks to be at least trying. I think he gives a **** which is a big one up on many others. No mention of tactics etc which would indicate manager, he is directly pinpointing a lack of respect of those in the shirt.

Colo is a man of principle. He talked of his pride at being made captain a few seasons ago, and it wasn't just hyperbole - he was genuinely honoured. The French contingent are largely responsible for chucking the towel in since January. 'We've made our bonuses for the season so why should we bother?' Disgusting. Cliques forming in the camp?

I think it happened when France qualified for the world cup. We all hoped that France qualifying was good news as people would be fighting for places. It seems to have had the opposite effect with a lot of them though. Uncommitted and saving themselves for something they don't deserve to be selected for. No idea what happened to the ones like HBA though who have already been dismissed as not being international standard by the French manager.

There have been many cases of players throwing the towel in - its not just the French lads. Most have been ****.

If it wasn't for the French injection in January last year along with some last minute goals by Cisse we would have gone down.

Look, come the end of season the following will happen; either

    1/ Mass exodus of players

    2/ The manager getting sacked

I know which I prefer. The vast majority want this clueless prick sacked.

The football is getting too depressing these days, it's even getting depressing reading about it on here.

Some of the guys just don't seem to want to play for us, they'll take the money though. They should get paid on results, might improve their performance.

Think I'll wind down and sit and watch some cricket while having a cold drink.

I don't think I've made any secret about my feelings of our supposed manager, I wouldn't let him manage a school football team, he'd kill the kids enthusiasm for the game.

Colo is too much of a professional to criticise the manager publically. He may or may not have done in the locker room. Except for the DM's telepathic powers, though, there's no evidence of this
