Livingston kid Coll Donaldson on his way to QPR as Harry Redknapp steps in with £150,000 bid 18 Jan 2014 12:52 THE 18-year-old centre-back, who has been watched by a number of clubs and is regarded as one of the best young players in the Scottish Championship, is on his way to West London. Coll Donaldson is on his way to QPRColl Donaldson is on his way to QPR Jeff Holmes/SNS Group LIVINGSTON last night agreed a £150,000 deal with QPR for teenage centre-half Coll Donaldson. As exclusively revealed by Record Sport, Loftus Road manager Harry Redknapp made his move for the 18-year-old defender after a week-long trial at the English Championship club. Livi accepted the cash offer from QPR for Donaldson and heâll head to London in the next 48 hours to agree personal terms and complete a medical. The Scotland Under-19 international could play his last game for the Lions at home to Morton today. This is all over the papers up here today saying that this is a done deal - didn't play yesterday as he was having a medical. Apparently Man Utd were looking at him last year, and he's highly rated - only 19 so he should provide plenty of sell-on value if he proves himself (even young enough to keep Flyer happy )
Sounds good but will Arry play him? We've got promising youngsters but none seem to be able to break into the first team
I dont think many of them are that promising or theyd be linked with PL teams like Sterling was. The fact that this guy was linked with Man U and the french guy linked with arsenal means they should be a massive step up over what we already have. And yes, its a good signing, not much money and highly rated. Even if it goes wrong, we havent wasted a lot, a month of Cesars wages.
Have to agree £150k & low wages is no risk at all really, if he makes it will be an absolute bargain & if not still likely to get a small fee back.
Seems he can play as a DCM too, they say hes very raw but tall and strong and one of 2 non SPL youngsters to watch this season in the papers.
Its good the scouts have seen potential in younger players, those other scots & from dundee united i think & they are very promising as well & we've looked at them.
Don't scare me Beth, I'm married to a Welshwoman and my kids are supporters of Wales, when it comes to rugby. We attended a family funeral in Swansea when my boy was a nipper. When asked 'Is he going to play for Wales then?', I had to respond 'Only if he's not good enough for England'. Made it out alive, but had to get a lot of rounds in at the wake.
