.....according to The Times. Sorry cant post link as its from the Times app.

The fact that Hill has a new contract on the table will make this interesting - unsure number of games in the Prem vs a longer contract in the Championship with the man who loaned him to Forest. Derry has a year on his current contract.

Still hope that someone will come in for Buz before he signs his contract too. Little hope of the same for Dyer who I assume has already signed.

Could be that only Mackie and hopefully Tarbs from Championship team get games next year.

    Don't forget Faurlin, SB.

I wouldn't blame Derry or Hill at all for going for guaranteed first team football and I doubt either could raise their game again to the levels seen this season. It'll be a real shame and I hold them both in a similar regard to Ainsworth for putting their nuts on the line for QPR.

Was always hoping that Sparky would hold onto Clint....and begin to use him in a coaching role. we need him as cover, someone who we could use in any defensive position if need be and never let us down. If we are to be successful, we need players like that. Chelsea and Liverpool have players just like Clint....you know that fella Torres who plays when Drogba is filling iffy and the youngster Carroll who sometimes plays when other people are on holiday.

Faurlin! My favorite player! going for the brain scan now.....

Apparently Derry had contract discussions with the club yesterday, as I would imagine Kenny and others nearing the end of contracts have.doubtless some on here will be outaged that here has been no press release, or white smoke from the top of the South Africa Road Stand.....

I would like to hold on to both as well, but if they go it will
    Be with sincere best wishes.

Shaun and Clint should stay for another season. Its a bit unfair to treat our player of the season like an oily rag and toss him aside. Even if both players dont become regular starters they would be reliable back-up to come on and a job when called upon.
The other thing to remember is that we dont want to make wholesale changes again. Three or four quality new editions maximum. Squad stabilty is one of the key areas we need to address, as well as team spirit, which I'm sure Clint and Shaun supply a lot of in training and in the dressing room.

Hill has been offered a contract. Someone else might just offer a longer one or promise him more games. Derry has been terrific but was well off the pace at times.

This will be the last season that either of them will have a chance of playing in the Prem.

If they go to Leeds they are already down to Championship level and if, and it's a big IF, Leeds are promoted I would not expect them to play much (if at all) in the Prem in 2013/14.

It all depends on what they actually want. Regular football in the Championship, not guarranteed regular football in the Prem, one last year in the prem then move down, the kudos of being a prem player, the money, the fact that they like being QPR players and have lots of mates at the club, the fact the fans really like them, etc, etc.

Can't see Bates allowing vast sums to be spent on wages either.

9's , i don't think we are tossing them to one side but they are 34 and 35 and this will be their decision , i think the fact is they can have one more year in the prem or maybe they can secure 2 or 3 years in the ccc on a decent contract at leeds. Good luck to the pair off them on whatever they decide, Been good for our club whatever they do.

Very tricky with players of their age, can't realistically offer more than a year or massive salary increases. Difficult decision for them both - ambition to play at top level vs security elsewhere. As long as they (and Paddy) are shown the proper respect (I think Lee Cook deserved a bit more than to be lumped in with some of the guys let go at the same time - a least a separate article on the Offish), I'll be happy.

Totally agree with you. Do we want the reward of putting the effort and commitment to the level these two have, to be kick out the door ? The spirit of the club is a massive thing and people should be reward for this kind of effort, shows clearly what the club expects and appreciates from it's players.

These 2 would be great as back ups, great for the spirit and great roll models for the up and coming. 1 years extension for both.

Saw on BBC Look North News this morning whilst I made my porridge that someone's trying to buy Leeds. If that comes off they mioght be looking for bigger (MASSIVE) names than Derry & Clint

I think the fact Derry & Hill played such an important role in our run-in should earn them one year at least. Would they prefer to go back to the Championship where there would be an extra 8 games plus a possible three play-off games at their age? Or play 15-20+ games in the best league in the world? I'm sure they would be on bigger money than at Leeds so I think as long as MH wants them they'll stay. Kenny has an easier choice but also may choose to fight for his place...

Derry has another year to run, and Clint has been offered another year. It's up to them.

This is true , no-ones kicking them out the door, i reckon it will be their decision. Its not like we have put them on the transfer list or not offered Hill a new contract.

What did you have on your porridge WBA?

Leeds must be quite cheap to buy, given they don't even own Elland Road. So essentially you are buying their debts and all the 'goodwill' Bates has created. Still MASSIVE of course.

Yeah but... imagine us being Leeds fans (I know, I know) receiving news this morning that our latest guru is chasing two or three mid-thirtysomethings from QPR!

Dyer signed according to the official, if my memory ain't totally gone. I hope both Clint and Derry stay for at least 1 more year. Clint was our best CB and player of the season last term, and we have only Anton and possibly Onouha left as CB's. With Barton missing til November and probably leaving, and Diakite's signing uncomfirmed, Derry is the Only defensive central midfield player left ! So we can't let him go either. With his experience I would want him another season as back up anyway, even if we get in 2/3 new defensive CM players.

    Outrageous!!! No truth!!! :emoticon-0105-wink:

If we can find better players to replace them, then yes they should go.
