Do I hear the words Palace and relegation?
Should be entertaining though, his press conferences are quality!

I imagine Jason Puncheon will be thrilled / made available for transfer <laugh>

Not best pals with Colin, apparently.

Would have thought Steve Clark would have been a better bet?

Big fall out with Steve Parish.

This is hilarious, though I do think it is a team suited to a dinosaur like Colin. Pulis is a brilliant coach, say what you like, and if Colin can motivate them I think they'll scrape through. There are more tragic teams in the Prem who should have gone down with us last year. About six teams needed to be relegated based on footballing performance...

Didn't Parish promise to give everyone bonuses if they stayed up then changed his mind?

Yep- given his track record in the PL (even with loads of money at times), it is hard to arrive at any other conclusion <ok>

Crystal Palace have been slashed to EVENS from 6/1 to sign Gary Hooper. In the last 20 mins! http://bit.ly/1p8dnXD

It's funny how we were chastised in large quarters for getting rid of Chris 'the nicest man in football' Hughton. But jobs have since come up at West Brom and Crystal Palace and they've gone for Alan Irvine and Neil Warnock ahead of him.

With the greatest respect to those two managers, I think that says a lot about how, overall, he did for us.

No ones gone in for Neil lennon, Steve Clarke, David Moyes, Tim Sherewood or Michael Laudrup etc. Bit harsh to just single out Chris Hughton. I still don't think he was a big of a disaster as some people may think, I reckon he will get a job in the Championship and will do well.

Hughton was something of a disaster in terms of the fanbase, because he divided them so much. He also had a deteriorating effect on the morale of the squad.

Otherwise, he did fantastic things for the club in terms of reforming it from the inside, developing scouting, coaching, youth team, etc. He also (IMO) had a respectable transfer record, though admittedly damaged somewhat in his last season.

If we get promoted any time in the next 2/3 seasons, I don't think anyone will be able to say Hughton had a lasting negative effect on us. His time was definitely up, and he wasn't capable of taking us to the next level like I'd hoped, but sometimes you need to take a step back to take two steps forward. Regroup, if you will. That's what the board planned for in our seven-year/five-year plan. I think that's exactly how to do it - ramp slowly up the league accepting that now and again we will get knocked back.

Laurdrup is managing somewhere in the Middle East. Whenever Chico Flores went.

Clarke, Sherwood (who ruled himself out of the Palace job when he describes the running as 'becoming like the Grand National') have at least been heavily linked to jobs.
