imminent that chris will be named as the new welsh boss, good choice who will carry on from where garry left off, remember not many wanted Garry at the beginning so coleman is the right person to give a chance to....

I hope that the job goes to the guy who was Speed's No. 2, if it goes to Coleman I'll support him all the way and I hope he'll maintain the philosophy set in place by Speed!!

If we go for Coleman it is a massive backward step. Surely we can do better than this. union i am with you give it to the guys who are already there. It is always the same with wales. We get something right (in getting Speed) then we go hugely wrong in employing a guy who will only take the team backwards. ( hope i am wrong on this)

trundle the exact same was said about Garry speed and he proved everyone wrong so why not coleman who had a better club management CV than Garry speed did......i cant see any problem whatsoever with giving coleman the chance of carrying on where garry left off. everything is in place for him...

Exactly Trundles left foot. It'd be such a shame to see all the good work Speed did go to waste and an insult to his memory. Coleman seems like a choice from the old boring Wales era. If he gets the job though I hope he proves me wrong but it seems sensible to have some continuity to a team in transit and keep the people who are part of that and continue its development.

im sure that coleman will be the only change to the wales setup and you can bet your bottom dollar that if he does take the job it will be that he has to keep the team already in place and not his own back room staff......he would have a no2 who knows the set up and its colemans job to improve the further development that garry started......if he dont then he will be sacked but we must give him time to settle into the job and every chance to do the job he is hired to do....pshe dont have the job yet but i hope he does....

This wouldn't be a good move. Would keep the current number 2 and put him as manager for the next qualification attempt, if he fails then put Coleman in. Ramsey is infuse news today saying that him and some of the players are a bit peeved that they haven't been involved in any discusion regarding the next manager, like a lot of other countries do supposedly. From what I have read over the last couple of months it appears as if the players want the number two to have the job.

Players should be seen & not heard IMO . 10 players will think 10 things , pretty hard to please everyone .

It's a difficult balancing act Cracker, but pretty much a whole team were to come out in support of a candidate then the FAW should probably listen to what they have to say!

superwan99 is right - none of us wanted Speed did we? The players seem keen on keeping the other coaching staff so that may well be part of the deal. All we can do is support him. He's still young and after doing so well at Fulham hasn't done much so still has a lot to prove. The job will be close to his heart and that's a great starting point.

players have no say....why should they, they can have opinions but thats all they are, the FAW makes the decisions and rightly so as you cant let players dictate who they want as you would not get everyone agreeing...

In my sporting experience on many , many teams ... when a team of players comes forward with advise for the off field generals , it's generally one or two socially skilled players that have strong armed the rest of the team into there idea ... not always but most of the time . To many chiefs & not enough Indians never seems to work

I'm not saying the players oppinion has to influence any decision the FAW makes but the more the FAW knows and hears the more informed they are to make a good decision for Wales!

Coleman had a good run at Fulham. I ask what else has he done. His record since is not all that impressive. For me he does not play football the way Wales are trying to progress. For me its a no no. But if that is who we have then so be it.

As for no one wanted Gary Speed, That was purely as he was untested. Short of a few months at Sheffield United. But fair play he was turning us round to play football and not long ball as is the want of the worlds worst pundit Barry Horne. I just think to go with Coleman would be a complete change in style again. Why not stick with the Guys behind Speed, give them the chance to prove themselves and develop Wales in the way Speed had us going. Thats just my opinion.
