Judging by us, Swansea and Norwich last year carlton Cole honestly believes West Ham can finish comfortably in mid table this year! That must make us certs for a champions league place this year if you compared our squads. And we're worried about our defense?!

You're doing it again Oddball, not 5 hours after you suggested you called time on that carry on.

I hate to sound like a boring old fart (I'm 22), but why should we have to compare ourselves to other clubs in a futile bid for one-upmanship? At the end of the day the season will come and it'll be there that battles between clubs unfold, not on forums like this...

Supermack, I'd dearly love to discuss OUR team and OUR development during the closed season rather than taking a "we're going to be better than you so nerr" attitude; I may be being uncharacteristically old fashioned, but isn't it the pitch where games are won and lost? And whilst I'm on the subject of Internet relations between fans of different clubs, Swords, whilst I support your boycott of the Norwich board if indeed you were unjustly banned, I really don't see the fascination with constantly comparing our club to theirs or indeed any club for that matter; for example I never venture onto other boards, and I lose interest rather quickly in threads on our Not606 forum if other fans come wumming (valid and non-inflammatory comments from the likes of District Line are more than welcome on the other hand). The difference between engaging opposing fans on the internet as opposed to over a pint before or after a game is vast - face to face encourages good debate and respect, whilst 'conversation' over the internet behind anonymous pseudonyms simply encourages aggression instead of reason.

Back to the point: I just don't see the purpose in threads like this. Let's discuss all things QPR amongst ourselves, as QPR supporters, rather than attempting to prove imaginary superiority over other clubs with futile statements such as Supermack's above.

No offence meant, just the way I see it <ok>

That's a top post, Liv. Everything you've said there is spot on. I don't know why people are so interested in what other Clubs say or do (for the record, I wasn't comparing ourselves to Norwich a'tall - in fact I wished them all the best for the season!).

I've said before that when we're bitching about what Chelsea are saying or doing, we look like a person who's running around obsessed with an ex girlfriend or boyfriend. In other words we look pathetic. Like Chelsea give two fu*ks about what we're up to?

Another thing I don't understand is fans constantly bigging up our chances and how we're going to be such a big Club in X amount of years. Can't people see that the more you talk yourself up, the more arrogant you look and the more likely you're going to fall flat on your face?

No, the way to go about it is to do the total opposite and remain quiet and humble and keep your feet firmly planted on the ground.

Cheers Swords, and if that's the case with the Norwich board then good luck getting the ban overturned! I'm just enjoying progressing at our own pace as a club and granted, that seems to be very quickly at the moment!

Great post LRRRs... although part of the tribal thing involves club rivalries for some - especially younger fans. You know that. As it happens, I was a bit like you. Couldn't be arsed with all the bravado.

i think alot of our fans ended up with egg on their faces at the end of the season. we did not do as well as we all thought we would. plus the way in which the club bought in players last year we got some unfair comments. i think this season the way in which mark has bought in players the squad will do all the talking we need to do.

We did better than I thought we'd do. If anyone thought we'd stay up with the team we fielded against Bolton they should be sectioned...

    Swords got bitten.
Football fans in the main only love their own clubs.
Forum fans are never going to behave in the way we would like.... Egos get in the way ... If Sword's ego hadn't been dented or the Norwich idiot then harmony and love would have shone through .... Oh it didn't

With a clean stale fans are all equally entitled to express their optimism you don't have to read it, agree with it or even comment on it.

Swords also to speculate again under your theories about final placings you are yet again wrong ... The intensity of games in a relegation battle where points are won or lost are far different all round than losing a game mid season. Based on your theory we could be relegated after our difficult forthcoming September .. My take on the term fickle.

I sincerely believe that we prior to the start of the season QPR can win every match ... I adjust thereafter and have problem being wrong whatsoever

I will not ever agree to stop the dream afterall most sporting stories are built on them .

19th last year you should be ashamed

The middle league as I educated most on here on ebbs and flows and it's a hard call to call

Completely missing the point liv, I'm afraid, and completely over the top. Half my family are West Ham fans and I have absolutely no problem with any club or other fans. You will not see me mock others for supporting who they do. I even love Chelsea and think it's great they won the champions league. I've been with friends to see spurs, palace and arsenal play amongst many others. This was just a friendly laugh a coles comment on them easily making mid table this year! So chill out, you're not sounding like an old man, just an idiot slagging me off when you know nothing about me!!

By the way, I too thought we would get relegated last year, it was a great achievement that we stayed up and if I was a West Ham player or fan then I'd be over the moon with 17th place this year!

Totally this. And Oddball had that team finishing EIGHT!

I gave credit to him yesterday as it seemed he was eating some humble pie but now he's wriggling and squirming again and its very unbecoming.
