Seems the malaysians might be getting a little worried about whats happening with Goodwillie and these court cases being put back.
£2 million is a lot for a 2maybe" player, this one goes to the back burner.

I don't think £2m is appropriate fee for a guy who has scored a few goals in a largely cr@p league.

City could get a few decent players for that money combined.

shame, think he could be a really good player for us. However makes sence not to spend 2 mill on a player that could wind up in the can for a few years, hope we have other targets lined up of the same standard tho.
I was thinking about this situation this morn as it happens, what with the intrest in Bellamy, would it be a good move to not get goodwillie and stump up the extra 2 mill needed to sign bellamy from Man City outright? Tough choice.

a simple google search reveals he is a 1 in 4 striker. not many people on here seem to know that - and i'm with ninian opinion on this one i'm afraid, £2m is too much for a striker who has had one decent season in the SPL - even the supposed big 2 in that league are pretty crap to say the least.

He's pretty decent on fifa, I'll say that much for him! Seriously though, he looks a good player but for £2M? And with all the excess baggage maybe it is best to look elsewhere!

I think he looks a more talented player than his record suggests. BUT...

... What the hell does it say to our female BlueBIRDS if we go and pay one of the club's biggest ever transfer fees for a guy with a rape charge hanging over him? For me, it should be out of the question that we sign Badwillie until his name has been totally cleared. Firstly for moral reasons, and second for marketing reasons.

Move on for now I say.

A lot of sense being talked on this issue. £2m must be able to secure the services of at least an equally good player. I know we have been trying to reduce the wage bill but wouldnt it be cheaper to pay Jay what he wanted (for example - I know not everyone would like him back) rather than £2m + wages for Goodwille?

Does anyone really think we would pay £2M being asked for Goodwillie?

Leaving out the moral side of the argument as to whether he was a fit and proper person to bring to the club, I doubt we would part with that sort of money without it being dependant on future performances.

Whether DU would go for that is another matter - it may be the best offer they'll get.

I think we are getting caught up in the Goodwillie hype, Ranger's asked the price, as one of the big two in the SPL, and despite the rumours one of the financial big hitters in Scotland. In SPL terms it's like one of the Manchester clubs or Chelsea enquiring about a player down South.......the selling club try to hit them for as much as they can. I don't believe Rangers can't raise £2 million, they have taken a commercial decision, £2 million is a lot to pay for a player who has had one half decent season in the SPL, and comes with all this baggage as well then £2 million is a big gamble, which they are not prepared to take, then all of a sudden KAPOW! Goodwillie is a £2 million player because that's what Dundee want, it's like us quoting Pompey £20 million for Whitts........good player but not in the £20 million class,
Goodwillie is a decent young player, with potential, but unproven at Championship level...................may be worth a punt, at upto around £1 million, but WHY is he worth 2?

because Dundee say he is...................well they would wouldn't they? The player wants to move.......he is worth what someone is prepared to pay for him, not a penny more.

I don't think that our owners or manager are stupid enough to get caught up in the hype, but the fans seem to be.............I honestly think (unless MM knows something about this player nobody else does......not impossible <ok>) that Cardiff will make a reasonable offer and walk away if it's deemed not enough..............lack of ambition? Common sense IMO.
