Background

Nineteenth placed Colchester United slipped back into losing ways during a midweek home defeat against Swindon; the U’s have now lost twelve of their last fifteen league matches. The U’s have only lost once in thirteen home matches against the Lilywhites (a 2-0 reverse in December 1986).
