Not much service to be fair. Linking up well coming out from the back. Did kick fresh air at one point in front of goal but haven't had another look at it yet. Yaya well off the pace, unfortunately. Columbia should be in front as they missed an absolute sitter. Bony rarely goes and win you a ball you need to provide some service to him - he ain't getting it.
Bony playing the lone striker and i think he needs to move about trying to lose his marker a bit more than he does. COL are playing the better football but apart from one sitter then like ivory they are poor in the final third....It's anyone's game at the moment...
Absolutely no cohesiveness to the ivory Coast team in any way , shape or form... Bony is a fabulous positional player , reads the flow of the game and positions himself accordingly. Playes great defense when he has to
Ivory playing better in the second half but it's still end to end stuff with no shot on target....someone will break soon i think...
Right decision. Not Bony's best game and it would be too risky to have both Bony and Drogba on at once when they already have points in the bag. Drogba lifted the team last time - let's see if it happens again. (Edit: Maybe not )
yesssssssssssssssssss great display of dribbling and scoring..we dont see enough of that skill anymore...
Why they don't play droggs from the off instead of wilf i cant understand. He is a far better player with pace who gives the defenders the runaround, wilf is to static and waits for the ball to come to him and is easily marked...
If Bony is going to score other players need to pas to him. Two games played and he's been ignored in both, is this because he's taken Drogba's place? bony certainly defends better than Drogba's and IMHO attacks better than him too.
The incident when..... the Colombian player stayed down, rolling around to waste time, when Ivory Coast was on the attack....and then Webb stopped play so the cheating **** could receive "treatment"....restarted the play (with all the Colombians in defensive positions) using the drop ball and the Colombian booted deep into the Ivory Coasts half and into touch.... so incensed me that I think I'll be supporting whoever they play against for the rest of the tournament Twats.
Agreed. Cheating bastards. Re Bony: As Bob said the service to him was almost non-existent and it was noticeable. Drogba does NOT have pace any more and can't go past people at this level - a fantastic player in his day but the legs have gone. Lifts the team and is a very useful player to bring on with 30 mins to go. The question was whether to go for it and keep Bony on (as they did in the first game) or be a little more conservative. Hindsight's a wonderful thing innit?
