Cockney away games

  1. Are there any Toon fans that travel from Newcastle are there abouts to the cockney away games?

Its just because, even though i'd love to go to the Emirates or Stamford bridge, and i'm killing myself for thinking "we're gonna lose those games so it's not that much of a miss", my dad says that he doesn't want to drive all the way down to London and the only way we'll ever go is if we go down on the coach.

Does it take long to get down there and back on the coach?

I almost died on the coach to the WBA cup game last year, and that was only 4 hours there and back, i'm thinking i'll not survive 7/8 hours there and back to the london games.

    How long does it take?

I Would strongly recommend NOT driving!
The train is the only way to go.
    Quicker, cheaper etc..
    A lot more relaxed Aswell.
Otherwise the supporters coach is second best.

6-7 hours but I always get the train. If you book early enough it's cheaper than the coach. Love London away games, always a good piss up and if we get a good result, the trip home is brilliant as the train is bouncing!

We got the 4:30pm train home and went past the Emirates, it was only 30 mins in to their game and you could see their fans downstairs having a pint. Loads of them. Was home for 8:15pm.

I personally didn't go yesterday but Arsenal away earlier this season was class!
Early wake-up but got back home in great time.
Nothing better than a good result in London like!

Aye if you book last minute. If you book when the train tickets go on sale then it will be as cheap as chips! With a Railcard it's £16 return. £24 without.

Only done midweek stays for Arsenal, Chelsea and Fulham. Hotel is cheap if you share rooms, expensive night out though. God knows what it will be like on the weekend.

Hotels actually tend to be cheaper on the weekend, night out probably not though!

How quick do you have to be to get £24 returns Leazes, I've never seen that them cheap!

The day they come out with a decent railcard and you can get them even lower.

If you go on east coast you will see on the right hand side of the main page the date of which the tickets are on sale till. You can get reminders for when they go on sale. It's usually about a month and a bit before, you have to know if you are going obviously and have to know if you will defo get tickets but if you book them within the first two days they are so cheap!

  15. How early do you book like?

And also it's a bit of a risk since Mike likes to **** the fans over by agreeing to change the fixture for TV!

Not uncalled for at all. I can count about 10 times he's bragged about having thousands of pounds saved up, and then when someone recommends a return ticket to London because he can't be bothered with a coach, he moans about the price - even though driving down there and back would cost his dad WELL over £100.

Tash, if you 'nearly died' on a 4 hour coach trip, then get the train and pay for it. There are only a few games in London so the cost isn't tremendous, and you can get it cheaper if you book early.

If you somehow can't afford to pay for the train, and you can't be arsed to handle a coach, well then, no one can help you can they?

Plus, you've basically answered your own question, so I don't even know what the point of this was:
