With more players returning from injury to full training Wycombe should be better prepared for the visit to Northampton by playing 7 or 8 aside games instead of the 5 aside games that has been the norm in recent weeks but there is still the problem of 1 of the teams playing with a rush goalie (its a shame Michael Duberry has left the club because I remember the fat bloke was always put in goal)
Unlike the folk on the other forum I for one am optimistic for this game and will be expecting to be leaving Sixfields 5pm on Saturday with a big smile on my face
I believe Gareth Ainsworth will get the best out of the team and we will be climbing the table when he has a full squad of players but both the manager and the players need the support of the fans and not to get on players backs when returning from injury remember they are not fully match fit remember its our team now!
And as the saying goes miracles are done immediatly but the impossible takes a little longer <ok>

i think we could win this! We haven’t been to bad on road getting win at Fleetwood ect and a decent result against Aldershot. My team would be

archer
wood johnson windfield dunne
spring lewis
andrede scowen grant
morgan

I think with two sitting behind a leaky defence may get the balance right between the attack and defence. Would work if spring give’s 100% along with Morgan. But if I had all the players to choose from I would play this

archer
mccoy doherty windfield dunne
bloomefield lewis
andreade scowen grant
kuffor

subs: harrison, ainsworth, wood, morgan, spring, johnson, morias

Tricky game and I would welcome a point (but hope for more)

Having not had a settled team all season it is hard to work out who and what combinations are best but I would go for;

Archer
McCoy Doherty Johnson Basey
Grant Bloomfield Lewis Wood
Morgan Kuffor

Subs; Ingram, Winfield, Dunne, Aisworth, Spring, McClure, Logan

Oh I forgot Scowen, probably have him in instead of Lewis and actually Foster is handy on the bench as he can cover a few positions. I reckon we would have a decent team/squad when all are fit. Maybe even the enviable position of competition for places.

As long as Wycombe's defence can keep Akinfenwa(?) quiet there's no reason we can't win this.Northampton have nearly as many injuries as us so are there for the taking.Come on you blues let me Watch The Football League show with a smile on my face while i sink a beer! <party>

I guess that would save some wages and give more chances to the youngsters, not upset by that. Slowly trimming the squad of Waddocks rubbish.

Will anyone notice he's gone and as it's a mutual agreement i take it we havn't paid him any money ? With players coming back from injury he was a waste, cheers Waddock!

Didn't get to hear the match but, looking at the stats, it seems we had more shots (17/13), more shots on target (8/7) and more corners (10/4). Possession wasn't so good (47/53) but I don't place much importance on that particular stat. What does that tell us. Seems to me, and I have noticed this more recently, that we are playing attacking football. I can't believe we have just been unlucky to come up against World class goalkeepers so maybe our marksman just aren't lethal enough.

A frustrating day. Fairly even in first half, came out and started second half very strongly - Morgan should have equalised but hit post/bar. Second Cobblers goal a pen and then Hackett from a breakaway. Grant pulls one back from the spot and Dunne and McClure miss great chances to make it interesting. Thoughts

a) had enough on the balance of play to have taken at least a point. However, we seem to have too many forwards who don't look like scoring. You can take the **** out of Akinfenwa all day but I'd gladly take the 12 goals he's scored this season.

b) good to see Foster back and McCoy (although he didn't make the bench in the end)

c) not sure Archer is the solution in goal. They were a big threat from throws and corners and he needed to come and help the defenders more than he did.

d) need to get Grant in the game as much as possible. Play him down the middle off a front man with Andrade and Wood out wide.

e) now is not the time to panic - there was enough in the performance today to offer some hope

I wouldn't say i'm starting to panic but besides Grant i can't see where goals are going to come from.We need a new striker asap even on loan and i think Ainsworth needs a number two who has experience of a relegation scrap even if it's only until we are safe.6 games without a win is not good for morale and we've got some hard games in the next few weeks in Rotherham and Burton.Hopefully things will have picked up by January when we play Exeter,Chesterfield and Plymouth all games we should be winning if we want to remain a Football league club. This is our worst season since martin O'neill did his magic but i still think we will survive as there are some poor teams in this division and when all our injured players return things will start to go our way at last. <cheers>

When is our luck going to change started brightly and dominated early doors without creating until the pie man scored (how he was alowed the space to get the headed in I do not know) Northampton then took control for the rest of the first half they had a pen appeal turned down rightly so thought he was Moses parting the waves kick the ball between 2 Wycombe players and when they don't part dive to the floor. We started the second half very well corner after corner chance after chance pen appeal turned down rightly so hit the upright then they get a pen and score we press forward again then Hackett :bandit: breaks and scores we continue to press forward and had chances to win 2 games but when your lucks out your luck out <wah>

Does anyone enjoy the Football League show? We thrashed Leeds 6-1 last week, which got us all of 45 seconds' airtime in the 42nd minute of the programme. And I have it on good authority that the person responsible for that decision received a verbal warning for giving us 20 seconds more than we are usually allocated.

Summary of performance is that firstly we are too lightweight against a Boothroyd style team. We struggled to cope every time they hauled it in to the box with long throw ins and free kicks etc. let's face it, most league 2 teams play on this fashion!
Also we couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo. Oli is all effort and little skill. He nevers looks like scoring. Morgan is full of step overs and tricks, but needs to get in the box more and spend less time out on the wing. McClure looked lively but missed a great head opportunity.
We need either a rejuvenated Kuffour or a loanee that can score!

i hate the format of that show - far too much time given to the "big" match at the start then a rish through the other goals followed by a lot of time with claridge or the other guy talking rubbish

Why does Claridge hate Wycombe so much he seems to slag us off all the time? I do like watching tfls on a sunday afternoon after a visit to the pub as it's the only way i can see all the goals/incidents because i wont pay for sky.
