Don't know about that. For one thing they literally are in the same league. Carroll has height and strength but Wickham skins him for speed and general ability on the ball, he's also two footed while Carroll is very much one footed. Plus he's younger and doesn't take seven minutes to wind up a shot. There's certainly no gulf in quality between the two.

I hope to see Conner grow into a 35m striker as I think he has the potential, he has all the attributes and now his contract has been sorted I would like to see him in his proper position. Carroll is by far the better bet tomorrow but he will be playing in his correct position, and the team will play to his strengths, he wont spend much time playing out wide if I know Big Sam.
Put it another way then Vincemac if Carrol wasn't an ex mag who would you prefer, me I would snap Carrols hand off but i would love to see Connor piss all over him on saturday.
I must admit concern over carroll like, he's hit some form (the jaja binks lookalike mo fo) pleased turkey legs is out, i think our arial ability at the back will keep him out, i expect the clown to hit the woodwork. Tricky game this, could go anyway, going for a lads victory though carroll to be nullified
In the end it will boil down to service for either player but Carroll in the air is a different matter.
The first match i took my girls too was the 3-0 at home, i am going 2-1 anarl, ha'way the lads! Connor & fletch
if connor played with the same applied agression as Carrol he could out-do him. he doesn't play that way often enough and his link up play needs to mature/ develop significantly. carrol would be my choice at this stage of each players development. hope connor can prove me wrong. still want us to win like. it'll be tough, but weshould be winning these games at home
When Connor eventually gets to play as our main striker, all this time he's been playing out wide will be a big help to him as he will be more aware of what is likely to happen when Giac or whoever is out wide has the ball. He's still learning his game and knowledge of playing out wide can only be a good thing.
I agree, but it is getting to the time for him to be played in a more central role, as he is not top class out wide imo., but then who have we got who is.
