Just been announced on the club's O/S that Centreplate who are the club's caterers, have decided to just withdraw all catering services to the club without any real explanation. The club did have a contract with Centreplate for them to supply our catering until 2021.

All rather odd but the club are now looking into legal action.

My first thought was who is Centreplate their not our caterers, I thought Lindley's were...quick google, suggests they rebranded.

I will post carefully PegLeg, their catering was...well you know...they've had enough emails from me in the past!

Constantly out of requested products...service slow...and some of their food i wouldn't give to a dog.

I'll never forget the day when it was blistering heat outside and they never had any water at halftime!

Chicken balti pies were top notch though.

On further investigation it appears to be even more bizarre that Centerplate have wanted to terminate the contract. Centerplate currently provide the catering for a wide range of football, cricket and rugby clubs and also some rather large museums. They've proudly stated on their website that they've just extended their contract with Rotherham United for their catering so it can't be down to a financial issue. Also on a sidenote the very first testimonial that they show on their website is from our own chairman and they haven't acted particularly swiftly to remove any information regarding them supplying ourselves our catering either.

    All rather odd.

From a legal point of view - I hope that Mr.Scally squeezes the 'caterers' - (I use the word loosely) for their apparent breach of contract ( that is what it looks like - if they do not give an adequate reason for their actions ) -

mind you, it wouldn't be any great loss - I wouldn't give any of their pies to my worst enemy - not even my neighbour.

In today's Chairman's notes he complains that Centerplate gave all future customer's (Scally's) personal telephone number in case they had any concerns about their bookings. When I looked on the Gills website earlier in the week they had published the cellphone number of the Centerplate executive in the US. What a coincidence! I wonder who did such a stupid thing first! It all sounds like a partnership fashioned in hell!

Saw Scally walking around the catering outlets at the Rainham End Saturday pre-match talking to some offical looking people, not sure what was going on
