That's exactly what most posters on here were doing , you won, we gave you a game and we have more important things to worry about including a re built ground not a converted athletics stadium.

' City have no right of appeal to Fifa but could pursue their opponents for financial compensation.'

    Could be interesting....

Am I the only one who is uneasy with the whole thing? It was only few months ago we were having a go at NLBR for showing a lack of class for their claim against Wycombe and now we are doing the same thing, which lets face it, is not as important as what happened to them. He was their player after all, if we had played it a week or so later he would probaly had played the whole 90.

Trying to get yourself re-instated back into the football league because of an incident 4 years prior is not exactly the same as trying to get a bit of comp from a club that played a player they shouldn't have, who ultimately won them the game. Now if we suggested to swap league positions with W'ham then yeah, we're just as bad as the blue few.

Where FIFA and the FA are concerned all ethics and sensible decision making goes out the window - anything could still happen!!

Anyway it does give rise to a question - if a player does not want to play for his country should he be made to? West Ham after all pay this guys wages not FIFA or Senegal?

simple, you don't want to play for your country, say so, and don't make yourself available, but don't try and have the best of both worlds.

I wonder what would happen if we fielded ineligible players to gain promotion and succeeded?

Why not ask Luton Town? They know all about it.

Which is what I've been banging on about forever

I'm sure that if asked, a fair proportion of the current England first XI wouldn't bother turning up for England - they have absolutely nothing to gain from it.

Their league clubs, who pay their wages, risk losing their stars for possibly weeks on end to England camps/training, and worse, possibly to injury.

The media hype the England team out of all reasonable proportion before all tournaments, and the players are on a hiding to nothing before a ball is kicked.

However, if they publicly state they have no interest in representing their country they will also be lambasted. They cant win, and whilst I've little sympathy for multi- millionaires being on the horns of such a dilemma it does make you wonder if they were asked, who would say 'no thanks'.

As for Senegal, expectations are probably a little lower..........................
