"THE Club is sorry to confirm that the request of the management team and board of directors the Club is cancelling a number of events, including this Monday’s End of Season Dinner, as the players and everyone at the Club are devoting all their energies to the forthcoming games against West Bromwich Albion and Manchester City.

Our apologies for any inconvenience caused. All refunds for events will be made next week.

Well, not sure how much different it will make but I guess that means the club is taking this really seriously. I guess it shows that maybe up to now we have been complacent and now the reality that we are in a scrap has sunk in.

Pity they did not start taking things seriously until now. 2 wins in 19 games and no action taken.

The majority of Budgies on this site who know their football were predicting this weeks ago, has it really taken this long for the club to cotton on?

Yes, too late now, we're stuck with the asshole. If somehow we survive, though, get rid of him. Immediately.

QPR cancelled their Xmas party and it made no difference so why bother? If the players are in a rut, they are in a rut and nothing is going to change that in the next 5-6 days unfortunately. Try as I might to remain at least a little positive and try to keep a certain amount of perspective about what is happening, it is so hard to see where change can be made to make enough of an impact after all this time. What happens if we do get relegated? Ban them from having a summer break? I doubt it, so this to me appears to be a bit of a hollow gesture by the club tbh.

How can we mere mortals with no football management experience see that things have not been right for months and yet those being paid very good money to do the job cannot see it? Sorry NCFC, too little, too late. regardless of whether we stay up or not.

The only thing that needs cancelling is the contracts of the management team!

Can you imagine the banter at the dinner had it gone ahead? Paid up fans sitting at a silver service dinner? The speeches would have been magnificent. It would have been worth every penny. A bit like Bernard Manning doing his 'stuff' in Bombay = embarrassing

I have a cunning idea, we should give John Ruddy to Man City, in exchange for 3 points

Too little, much too late. Hughton can't come back from this ill feeling. He has to go at the end of the season.
