Leicester City said the changes to their fixture schedule were "unprecedented" and they sympathised with the fans.
City's final home game of the season against promotion rivals Watford scheduled for Saturday, April 27, at 3pm was yesterday moved forward to the Friday night to be shown live on Sky TV.

Leicester City fans have had eight Saturday home games rescheduled
This is the eighth time this season that a home game scheduled for 3pm on a Saturday has been rescheduled after being selected for live TV coverage.
In fact, only seven of City's 23 home league games this season will have been played at 3pm on a Saturday and only one since December 22 - last weekend's defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

The club has issued a statement saying that the rescheduling of fixtures is out of their control and there is nothing they can do about it.
The statement said: "The club understands that this has caused some inconvenience for supporters and would, therefore, like to clarify its position with regard to the selection of televised games.
"The Football League's central contract for television rights requires all of its member clubs to accommodate changes to the fixture schedule, based on selections made by its broadcast partners.

"If a Leicester City fixture is selected for live coverage, the club is obliged to play the game at the rescheduled time.

"The club empathises with supporters that have been frustrated by the unprecedented changes to the schedule. With this in mind, we have recently extended a special offer to our loyal season ticket holders, entitling them to a complimentary additional ticket for one of our next three home games against Millwall or Birmingham City or Bolton Wanderers, as a gesture of appreciation for their efforts to accommodate the changes."

The club point out that all Watford tickets purchased for the original date will be valid for the rearranged fixture, or can be refunded, in accordance with the terms and conditions of sale.

I so thought that was an announcement in regards to the departure of Nigel Pearson then...

When there's a series of Press reports about Pearson being on the brink, and then there's a thread saying, "Club release a statement" it gets one thinking <laugh>

It's not true that you are obliged to televise all games that are requested.

You are obliged to accept a certain amount of televised games(which you've exceeded already), but beyond that you can reject a move to a fixture, Huddersfield have rejected two televised fixture moves already this season.

Rejecting them is just very expensive.

You're obliged to have 1 home game a season if they ask for it.

Huddersfield haven't rejected a single request. It was WYP who blocked both the Cardiff and Leeds games being on TV.

I'm obviously aware that WYP rejected the previous two fixture changes a the Udders, that's why we've got all this **** going on at the moment, as they couldn't reject our game too.

But Leicester have already had at least one home game televised(I think), so could have refused this one if they'd wanted.

Yes but when the FL and Clubs sign up with the Devil guess who wins ?? Certainly not the fans.

What the FL should insist on is that sky have to show every club twice at home and twice away and matches chosen well in advance.

Then only from April can fixtures be picked subject to which games matter most.

imo, THE FINAL DAYS GAMES should be on a sunday away from any other just like the PL do.

Sky fund English football, as a consequence, the Football League can't insist on anything.

I know what your saying but I´m afraid football is a money maker now. SKY shows your club, the club gets money & fans are 2nd.
I don´t know but I would guess that LCFC would make more money playing on Friday in front of 18,000 fans than on Saturday in front of say 24,000. (the other 6,000 watching it on SKY)
I get to see this game on the PC so I can´t really complain to much but I see your point.

Heres to 3 pts when ever they play.

Bugger the Sunday thing. Travelling is a pain in the arse on a Sunday if you rely on trains.

Leicester could have refused. I just felt that clarifying the rules to demonstrate the West Yorkshire Stasi's stance towards football fans to another set of fans was a worthwhile way to spend the time it took to make the post.

I hate Sky. I don't care if their money improves football- I still hate them, and their ****er of an owner.
