THE Tigers Trust has teamed up with Ideal Boilers as part of a campaign to get more young people into employment.The partnership comes just months before the charity, founded as Hull City Football in the Community, celebrates its 25th anniversary. ""> It has launched the Roar Support Fund, which is encouraging local businesses and people to support their community by working with the Tigers Trust.John Davies, trust manager, said: "We have the potential to grow and are determined to achieve another 25 years of success."We expect Roar to make a difference and the Corporate Roar helps kick off the year positively."This is our first concerted effort to engage local businesses in our work. We understand businesses are keen to make a contribution to their community and we now have the perfect opportunity for them to share their experiences and skills."To mark Ideal Boilers' involvement in the project, a group of Tigers Trust's students were invited to the company's west Hull headquarters for a tour.Among those students was Stephen Fowler, 26, who said: "It was a great tour and really opened my eyes a lot."I was shocked how well they use the space at Ideal Boilers."It is an area I would look at getting into."Debbie Skalli, human resources manager at Ideal Boilers, said: "Ideal Boilers is delighted to be a founder member of Roar, supporting the valuable work of the Tigers Trust."We aim to work in partnership with the trust to deliver their general objectives and specifically will be involved in projects and activities looking to prepare young people for the world of work."Being Roar champions also offers personal development opportunities to Ideal Boilers' employees through running workshops, volunteering at events and hosting visits to our site, for example, which supports our community values and ongoing investment in people."The trust's education department at the KC Stadium currently works with more than 50 young adults on year-long programmes and more than 600 on short courses. Both aim to improve students' chances of employment.Gemma Garnett, the trust's partnership development officer, said: "Sport is a proven method of tackling a wide range of issues, for example health, unemployment and crime."The high-profile association with the only Premier League football club in Yorkshire confirms the Tigers Trust has an important role to play within the community."I am looking forward to working with the staff at Ideal Boilers.
