Hi Guys, Charlton fan in peace. Just wondered what your views were on who should now be the club captain. Would it be Van Persie as the obvious choice, or thinking outside the box, could it be Nasri in an attempt to get him to stay?
Definitely not Nasri. The fans are already pretty pissed off with him. In the past we've given the captaincy to our best player, which isn't right in my opinion. I think we should give it to Vermaelen because he has a commanding presence and he can control the defence and midfield - two of our most indisciplined areas. RVP as vice-captain because he's a role model and he deserves it, but giving him the whole thing would be too much I think.
I think that to reward Nasri with the captain's armband sends out the wrong message that a player can hold a club to ransome. Absolutely no way I'm afraid. RVP and TV are my obvious choices. Jack Wilshire or Aaron Ramsey may be future captains, especially Aaron. My 2c
Same 4 with me but I go RVP/ TV/ Ramsey and Wilshere. Wouldn't be devastated if it were your way round though. Nasri's attitude should mean he's kept as far from the armband as is possible.
