If carey is still going to start games when fit he would likely remain captain, If he is going to be coming on from the bench then a new captain is likely
In a perfect world we'd have a plethora of defensive options, and in that world we would need a new captain as Carey is getting on a bit and will be in decline sooner rather than later.
I'd like to see James get the armband for what will likely be his last season with us. He took a risk joining us and he didn't bail when we nosedived into the relegation spots or when Coppell left. If we didn't have him last season it is very possible that this club could be in League 1 this season.
