https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...-challenges-facing-sunderlands-rivals-2856960 The Sunderland-born manager says he is looking forward to his next challenge in football, ‘wherever and whenever that is’.
He’s someone I always thought was ok and actually wouldn’t mind him here but I’m not sure if it’s the head talking or the heart!!
Has done well just keeping Burton in this division imo. I would take a punt on him if for some reason PP left.
I wouldn’t want him working with a blurt like SD. If we had a decent forward thinking owner, Clough Jr would be a great appointment.
I like Clough but he hasn't done well in the Championship or with other big clubs. Is he better suited at a smaller club punching a bit above its weight?
There’s a fair bit of sentiment here. He’s done nothing to suggest that he’s capable of managing a club our size and was very poor at Derby. Nice fella, did great with Burton, but would be in a lions den in a matter of weeks here.
He'd work fine for years at Sunderland if we had a good DOF ... ... as a few have discovered, its a pressure job and a lot for one man.
I don't think he'd be an improvement on what we've got, but he is supposed to have set up a very good scouting system at Burton. It would be nice to have that instead of the clowns Coton and Hill pulling the strings in the recruitment department.
Still have doubts about PP tbh., Clough could be just the man to rebuild us in the right manner, he certainly has the credentials.
