Will this increase the resolve of BDO to recover assets and sell them off individually, financially backed by HMRC, simply because of the scale of the debt owed and to set an example to other clubs and businesses?
Will the public outcry force their hand? Forgetting who it is, I for one believe that this level of tax evasion must be punished extremely harshly.

Should a sports club, especially one from which someone like Green can make a loads of cash, in the £20-30m range actually just be closed down?

If BDO do nothing, then surely this is not setting an example and sending out a message that tax evasion will not be tolerated, not matter the consequences for business or sport.

This a horrific amount if money for the public purse to be robbed of, and it will, if left unchecked in football end up in the billions, once the EBT scam is exposed down south.

Mosses, what exactly does your post try to imply? Sad, really a sad. I looks like you approve of tax evasion at the expense of the public purse, pensioners, NHS education, forces etc all denied much needed cash, so that your football club can gain millions of pounds in prize money and in CL rewards. Scandalous. People like you should actually be apologetic for your clubs behaviour.

Why? Because I posted a daft thing from you tube to in an attempt punctuate the sanctimonious nonsense on here with a bit of light relief? <laugh>

Education in Scotland is actually funded out of Council tax money. Is the NHS not mostly funded by National Insurance contributions? Good to see you worried about the boys in the forces though, will you be supporting the veterans this year?

I leave you to your burning indignation sir.

It's hardly sanctimonious nonsense. It's the equivalent of 2500 nurses wages apparently.

I hope BDO step in and rape the remnants.

Much of CT comes from central government and as such from comes from taxation. Seems you need to do your homework on CT. NHS is only partly funded by NI contributions which could never meet the full cost. I will take this opportunity to remind you that CW failed to pay NI and that the EBT scam means that fees due to be paid through NI were not due to the tax evasion within the EBT system abused.

You really are a sad individual, but also an ignorant one.

In practice, there is no seperation of National Insurance and income tax.

It all goes into the one pot - NI was originally ring-fenced but it isn't anymore.

    Stephanie Flanders said so <ok>

The government are about to merge them also as it's little more than a charade that NI is marked as seperate on your wageslip.

Education doesn't solely come out of council tax money, either - there's an educational supplement to the money that the executive grants to local councils in Scotland - this is agreed by the DfE before even getting to the executive - this is also supplemented by centralised funding from the European Union.
