Call me a boring bastard but some ex diver had his 2 x Comex Rolex’s valued on Antiques Roadshow last night.

I missed the but where he explained how he acquired them but I think he was given them as gifts by his diving company.

Now worth £70,000 for the pair.

He was well chuffed.

Comex had Rolex watches made for them to issue to their commercial divers. There are several different types, but all are very collectible if the divers log book is included. The ones with a helium valve are the top value.
Mechanical Dive watches are still a valuable tool for commercial divers but not for recreational or technical scuba divers.
COMEX Rolex watches were expensive when new, a similar Rolex would cost around 10k now.
It’s odd, I paid more for my dive watch than for my dive computer. It’s the computer that will save my life not the watch.

I think they were also massively undervalued one Comex diver alone sold in 2019 at Sotheby’s for £78,500 - He had two.
