"""" QPR hopeful skipper Hill will quickly recover Soccer - Sky Bet Championship - Queens Park Rangers v Sheffield Wednesday - Loftus Road 28/09/2013 By David McIntyre QPR will monitor Clint Hill but are hopeful the captain will quickly recover from a knock to the head he suffered during their victory against Middlesbrough. Rangersâ 2-0 triumph cemented their position at the top of the Championship and their seventh consecutive clean sheet equalled a club record. But the sight of Hill stumbling off with 12 minutes remaining was a worry given that they are short of defensive options, particularly with Nedum Onuoha currently sidelined. Assistant manager Kevin Bond said: âHe couldnât really see out of one eye and I think had a bit of concussion. âAt the moment weâre thin on the ground in terms of centre-backs and did get a couple of other knocks. âAle Faurlin came off and Charlie Austin got a knock or two in the air after going up for headers.â Joey Bartonâs early goal and Austinâs 35th-minute penalty gave Rangers a convincing win at Loftus Road. Just as importantly, the team produced their most impressive display of the season so far, with recent signing Niko Kranjcar effortlessly outstanding on his home debut. âWe all thought that was our best performance of the season by some way,â said Bond. âWe got the ball down and played, controlled the game and kept possession. It was our best display by a mile. âWeâve been getting the results but we perhaps havenât been as convincing and weâd have liked with our performances. âItâs hugely important for a side that comes down not to suffer any kind of hangover. If you donât get off to a good start then it can be difficult. âFortunately, weâve managed to get off to a good start. The feeling around the club is a million miles from what it was.â """"""" Last thing we neeed now are more injuries to CB's or Strikers.
Hopefully it's just a slight knock and Clint is back in action next Sat, once again pairing up with Dunney, as CB's for the Barnsley game, who I'm surprised wasn't handed the captain's armband when Clint off, rather than Barton.
Concussions can be strange things. They can be career enders but football doesn't seem to take them seriously even if they are knocked out. Could mean we sign zaliukas this week.
Clint Hill was superb today, in my opinion. He made the most vital clearances today, stretching more than I though he could!

Without getting embroiled in a subject flogged to its bones long ago, a clash with the knee of the onrushing Stephen Hunt results in a depressed skull fracture for Cech which saw him hospitalised and unavailable to play until January 20th 2007.
