As much as this goes against the grain, is now the perfect time for Clint Hill to retire? Nobody admires the man more than I do, nobody values his contribution to the last four season more than I do and nobody will miss him more than I will, but I do believe that this could be the perfect time for him to hang up his boots.

I doubt that anyone would argue that he could play left back in the Premier League next season, and, even before we start to strengthen the squad, it would appear that Onouha and Dunne are Redknapp’s preferred central combination, so the bench would be the best he could hope for.

Surely it would be better to go out on a massive high as only our second ever victorious captain at Wembley, rather than hang around for another season? I can’t see him being satisfied with that and would hate for him to then seek a loan spell elsewhere and then disappear as Shaun Derry did. He is exhibiting all the hallmarks of a potential coach, we’d be foolish to let him drift away. Get your coaching badges sorted out Clint, there must be room for him somewhere in our massive backroom staff you, and if not, we need to make room.

Of course QPR have spent the last three seasons trying to replace him and failed; only a fool would write him off.

If Redknapp doesn't want him in the squad he'd be a great option for any Championship club. I'd love him to stay on as coach in place of one of Redknapp's old fuds but think he'll feel he has another year in him.

Definitely deserves another season with us in the EPL.

Even if just a squad player.

Hopefully will then go on to a "giggsy".

Definitely seems like he is a good man to have around, so surely it would be good to have him in a player/coach role, with a focus on coaching.

After helping undermine the manager and **** team spirit?

I wouldn't put a scum bag, Welsh, Man Utd player up as a good example, but it's up to you if you think he's ok.

Nothing against the Welsh, just never been in a position to give a **** about him or his football.

I meant the role not the player.

    Apologies for any offence.

    Only playing KD.

Just remember him doing things like choosing to play for Wales and then playing his whole career in England. Hate Giggs and all he stands for. No need to apologise.

Edit: back on topic, super sub role could be his. Plus he'll be the same speed as everyone else in the last 10 mins.

One more year, probably as a squad player, then move to a coaching role.

Do you see that being enough for Clint, or suspect he would then go the way that Derry did?

    Great OP.
I too would love to see Clint finish on a high. Perhaps he can be the new assistant player-coach. That way can be called upon if required. He will undoubtedly stay fit and can get his coaching badges. As an inspirer he's not as forthright as Joey, but he is a great role model of commitment, passion and desire.

That way we'd get the best of both worlds and could dispense of Wally Downes.

Clint is in folklore now x2 promotions x1 Wembley Victory. QPR is his home club, now and forevermore, not a question of being enough anymore.

All His demons have been excised except for that premier league goal. Bloody Lee Mason eh!

For QPR's sake I hope it is enough for him.

I want him with us for a very long time !!

No, it's not time. One more year, then he can do whatever he wants. At the moment, what he undoubtedly wants is one more year.

Even he doesn't think he's good enough to play left back, and I don't see him being a bit part player, unless they put him in as a coach straight away as well. But he's an essential balance to the influence of Barton. Together they are a positive for team spirit (it pains me to say), I don't like the idea of Barton being the only leader on the pitch, and Dunne will hardly play every game next season.
