I cannot imagine Clichy playing for Everton. If that transfer takes place, it will obviously change Clichy's overall rating.

Baines is Britain's 2nd best left back and would therefore accrue at least 20-25 million in transfer fees.

Unlikely Arsene will find that many pennies to spend on just one player.

I can understand teams who say, have too many strikers, and another team who has too many defenders doing a swap.

But, like for like? Why? One is clearly better than the other.

Like Hizmo said, I can't picture Clichy playing for Everton. I think he'll go to AC milan. Baines will cost £15m minimum.

I think he is better than Clichy so yeah I would do it. Would be nice to have a full back who is actually good at crossing.

I'd guess its because clichy is possibly not going to continue his contract, but i don't see why he'd want to go to everton

Surely you mean England's second best left back? He's not as much of an attacking threat as Bale. Or do you rate him higher than Cashley? <ok>

Baines has a pretty handy tally of assists this season too and would certainly address Arsenal's problem of getting the ball into the box. Very good player and I didn't realise he was still only 26 years old.
