Below are the insightful thoughts of our beloved CEO taken from the matchday program yesterday. He doesn't give much away but I wonder what he's thinking today 24 hours on!

It would be short sighted and naive to try and put a positive spin on the start to the season. While there have been some encouraging signs the table doesn’t lie and three defeats and only one win from six games falls well short of our own hopes, aspirations and expectations.
That said we are only four weeks into the new season and it needs to be recognised that there are still 40 games to play. Indeed at this stage last season Reading were also in 23rd position with one less point than we currently have accrued, so while there is reason for some concern, we are far from ‘panic stations’ at this time. Everyone who follows the game knows that football is a sport which is dependent on individual and collective confidence, a commodity which is hard to come by when you are not winning games.

At difficult times like these it is challenging for everyone but in particular the fan base to feel upbeat and positive. However, without your loyal and vocal support the problem is simply exasperated and the chances of turning attempts on goal into the back of the net are further diminished.

In high performance sport the margins between success and failure are small and these differences move players and teams from zero to hero and vice-versa very quickly.
I would ask all fans to be vocal in their support today; the boys certainly need your encouragement and without it the chances of success become harder.
We have to all got to take a degree of responsibility for getting us out of the current rut, the manager, the players, the staff, the owner, myself . We need to be in this together because we can all make the difference that will see us through.

One thing that is clear is that success cannot be achieved without investment and the ongoing support of the owner is critical to achieving that. No serious observer of Ipswich Town can question the commitment of Marcus Evans. He has put millions into the Club and it’s worth remembering where Ipswich Town might be without that financial backing.

Today is an important game; we desperately need points - not so much for the points themselves at this stage but to give everyone the confidence that is so critical to kick-starting our season

All makes sense until you get to the Marcus Evans part... I don't know many people who would genuinely like to see him withdraw...

They must have expected a chorus of anti Evans abuse and thought this would nullify it...
