Just wanted to get that off my chest!!! The guy is a clueless ****! Why is it that every single transfer deal turns into a ****ing soap opera? It never happened under Burley or Royle and to a lesser extent under Magilton. But of course back then we had a competent CEO, Derek Bowden, in charge! Mind you I also can't believe that we have offered Chambers £16k per week! Over 3 years that £2.5 Million! He's not that ****ing good! Give me ****ing strength!
So much for operating within the Fair Play rules! I wouldn't pay him any more than £10K per week, ****ing hell how much is Tommy on? Nowhere near that I bet and its bound to cause discontent! Getting ahead of myself a bit as he hasn't signed a contract yet eventhough he was at Portman Road the whole day yesterday!
Just had news that the heart surgery unit that saved my niece and where she has been going for her operations will be closed so not in the mood for such petulance over my comments right now treacs
Sorry to hear that and it puts football in perspective when illness strikes. If you let me know the name of the hospital then maybe we could start an online petition to save it?
Its all hearsay and speculation at the moment. I would imagine only a handfull of people know details of what contract is offered and so I would suggest that £16k a week is possible a figure plucked from the air. Even if there is truth in it then as some comments have already said Clegg gets criticized for not offering enough money and also offering too much. I think some fans made up their minds about him a long time ago and will just use any possible story to batter him these days. for arguments sake, this story suggests that us offering him £16k a week but leeds offer him more and then Clegg will get blamed for not finishing the deal, which normally means offering more money. As I said on a different post, we all know action is needed and new players brought in but we have time to get them in. I dare say fans of hundreds of clubs are thinking the same as us and I will understand the furore if we get to within a week or 2 of the new season with what we have now but give the club a chance.
sorry to hear that yorkie. hopefully a solution can be reached to save it tractorbhoy, i've had a quick look into these wage rumours and it seems they have come from a reliable notts journalist, though he claims he will 'almost double his wages' so i guess it's more like £14-15k a week, but it does seem that clegg can't win on this one! i do feel that's way too much to spend on him but free agents do tend to get paid more it seems! fact is, you urgently need players, especially defenders so when they see previous targets go to other clubs they'll probably push harder to secure deals from now on.
Chambers himself has said that the wages rumours going around are well off the mark, I would suggest he is on 10k max. which to my mind on a decent freebie isn't too bad of a deal.
thanks gents. Alas, a petition with more than 600,000 signatures was delivered to Downing Street to no avail. I won't go into the politics of it but the decision was made by a panel headed by a man with a business interest in it being closed and we were shocked yesterday as we watched hours of arbitrary scoring and statistics 'prove' that it was in the best interests. Yesterday was very emotional so I thank you for your good wishes http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-18681851
Lancs, you can expect a more rural hospital to possibly shut the odd ward but a city the size of Leeds is just plain crazy. Hope it hasnt been too painful for you and it certainly puts our footballing angst into focus and context.
