i think gardiner will definatly go. seb could have played himself into a new contract and hopefully bardo and colback will sign new deals.

glad to see the back of dossena. he's a dirty bastard and a bit of a liability

Was wounded when he pulled the shirt on again tbh, good ridance, no place for his type here (take note tigers fans)

Get shot of fletcher for me, injury plagued and not interested, cut our losses and send him north of the border

    Danny Graham?

I'd keep Seb and Jack but not Bardo.

forgot about graham, he can **** right off and hopefully we get some money back on the fee we paid for the useless knacker.

im a big fan of bardo and think he should be given a new contract. his commitment and effort is well worth it

i liked fletch but to be honest we have seen nothing from him this season. i dont mind if our players are not the most gifted, what i hate and cant forgive is lack of effort. for me the players should have the same passion for the club we fans have

    Would like to see go:

Bardsley - I think his performance off the ball is woeful (out of position etc.) but isn't noticed so much as it is off the ball. I think he is a limited footballer with a great attitude only when it suits him. He's been poor for a while but turned it on when it is contract time. We need to move on from him. I'd only keep him on low wages as a squad player.

Gardner - Simply because I can't stand to watch him piss away ANOTHER freekick. The occasional 30 yarder doesn't' mask the lack of quality across all other aspects of his game.

Borini - CONTROVERSIAL! We've had a season of terrible strikers and he couldn't force himself into our striker role. If you take away the penalties (I know you've still got to score them) I think he has scored 2 in open play in the Premier League. Love his attitude, love his work rate and I'd like to keep him but not at the price we would need to pay. Just financial. If we could get him for under £5m I'd say yes but Liverpool are going to think we want him more than we actually need him and will try and take our pants down. £5m plus buys you a better winger and £5m plus would probably buy you more goals up front.

Fletcher - He's just not fussed is he. Therefore I'm not fussed about keeping him.

Westwood - He's good but I don't think he will ever really set the world on fire for us. I don't think he pushes Vito enough. Good goalkeeper on his day but.........meh

Cuellar, Danny Graham, Dossena, Diakite - Just don't offer a whole lot, not much more of an explanation.

    Would like to keep:

Ki - Rolls Royce of a footballer. Name a more consistent passer of a ball since Reyna or Schwartz? Completely two footed as well (pisses me off that all footballers aren't two footed, I taught myself as an 8yr old against a school wall so why can't professionals?). Low risk and in his last year of his contract and you can bet we would get him for under £4m. If we want to play a passing style then player like Ki would be perfect. People say they don't want him because of recent attitude. Doesn't bother me in the slightest, you have to remember that for about 1/3rd of the season he was our best player. Our situation was dire and his head dropped, but our situation was DIRE! Still well worth the money.

Altidore - but out on loan. We sell him now and we will get humped on the transfer fee. I'd rather loan him to Holland, Spain, Portugal, Russia, Turkey where the football is slower, hope to raise his value and be able to recall him if the chips are down. Unlike some I actually still think there is a footballer in there somewhere, but his confidence is absolutely in shreds. He does have some good qualities to his game.

N'Diaye - Good player, would have suited Gus in my opinion. Bring him back, see if Gus likes him and if not sell him. Untapped potential.

Colback - I think Colback is pretty decent but I do wonder how close he may already be to his ceiling in terms of development. Still if we lose Colback for nothing then someone at the club need lynching. We should have the option to keep or sell and getting anything less than £6m for him is criminal. I'm not sure how much of a role he could play in the future is we were to push on, but we need him in our squad. At the same time, if he goes, even up the road, I wish him well. The club hasn't exactly nurtured him or valued him.

Larsson - Purely from a financial perspective. He is a decent player (obviously brilliant when he is playing for a contract, the dick) that we get to keep for the cost of a contract. Would cost too much to buy a replacement. Keeping him is the prudent financial choice. Gus should get him to stay back for an hour each day until he remembers how to take a corner and freekick.

Giaccherini - Should try and keep him and put more faith in him. Valued at bloody Juventus, scores against Brazil for Italy, but isn't good enough for us? Bull ****! Play him week in week out on the left wing and save the money we would spend on Borini as it would be better spent elsewhere.

Ustari - Good keeper in my opinion. Happy to be a number two for the time being and I think he would be hard for Vito to instantly displace if Vito were out with injury. Cost nothing and would be cheap wages. Good attitude.

Vergini - Good now and will only get better. Won't cost much.

    Would like to shoot:

    John O'Shea. Nothing to add.

Great post, I agree with all except as highlighted above. Borini btw - absolutely don't get the big love-in with him. Works hard and has moments of quality but there must be better available for anything over £5m abroad surely?

Fantastic post mate: A well thought out analysis. Hard to disagree with almost all of it, except Ki and Colback.

Ki, a no for me. I'm not sure where his head is and what he wants. Perhaps he's homesick at times, but he's up and down, and the last thing we need is inconsistency.

Colback, you'd be happy for him to go up the road? **** no. We made him for our benefit, not theirs. He can only get better and he's a definite keep for me. There's a Scholes about him, a quiet hard working grafter. Every team needs one and we've already got him.

Other than that mate, your analysis is spot on imho. Keep posting!!

i'd give fletcher another season myself, was nowhere near match fit when we carried on playing him and I think he's took a lot of stick some fair but most unfairly for me, the boy can finish no doubt about that......... I'm hoping we can tie up colback, bardsley, larrson, make a deal for Alonso ki and borini and add maybe 3-5 quality players to strengthen what is already a half decent team IMO certainly don't want a repeat of last years numbers coming and going. rome wasn't built in a day as they say and neither are footballing teams,

Well said Solsec. Borini's touch v Cardiff was embarrassing! He's decent and quick so I like him but let's not get carried away or ripped off.

I can't believe some people are turning their noses up at Ki cos he's lost form lately. We can't get a player who is consistently brilliant, he would be going elsewhere. He is a quality player and would be top of my list of recruits, above Borini and even Alonso

Re Ki; sorry mate, I'm not asking for a player who is consistently brilliant, just consistent. If it's on the plus side he stays, if not he goes. What I don't want is not knowing what sort of player is going to turn out and imho he's very up and down.

Seems it's Borini and Ki that really split the opinion on here.

I know Ki might not be one for the killer ball but I can't think of a better player to compliment a creator or distribute it to the wings. He gives us something different to anything else we have. Think of the versatility if we have Ki, Cattermole, Colback, Larsson, N'Diaye (under £4m for Ki) + a good creator/goalscorer (I'd love Sigurdsson (spelling?)). I just don't see how we get better value than Ki, for the level of his play. Some games this season he had over 95% pass completion!

For the money we would pay for Borini we could get a prolific scorer from the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 etc. I just think he is way inflated. Remember, Remy cost £6m when he came to this country. We will only be able to afford one biggish name forward. If that forward is Borini, do you really think he will score the 15 goals we need for a comfortable season.

If Borini hadn't scored against Chelsea, Cardiff, Newcastle, and at Wembley. Say he has scored the same amount of goals against West Ham, Norwich, Crystal palace etc. for the same or more points I am guessing that people would not have the love in they do with him. Is his normal game really that good? When was the last time he got man of the match when he didn't score? I saw a stat a couple of weeks ago that we were x3 more likely to win when Altidore started a game than when Borini did..................don't shoot the messenger!

I really like Fabio, but maybe a smidge overrated and definitely over valued.

Fletcher? We're the only Premier club that he has managed not to relegate. Says it all for me.

I think trying to keep Borini is a must. Remember he's only young still and now he's had his 1st season and settled, he can only get better.
Ki. Fantastic in the first half of the season the tailed off for whatever reason, would still keep him though.
Colback - must keep, end of.
Basically I'd try to keep everyone bar Gardner, we need a big squad of players and I'd just add 1 or 2 quality players to the squad.
