For the game against Stoke in the Cup, MP will give players a run out / give them their head. Wednesday will allow Phelan to make changes in the League games, without causing too much dissent FACT Discuss.
I agree. But, so far, MP has 'kept the faith' with the players who gave us a great start. We've got Jake out for 2* games; there'll be injuries. * Edit - it seems it's only 1 game.
Wednesday will be a good opportunity to see Marshall in goal, Mbokani starting up top with Hernandez, and Henriksen replacing Huddlestone in the middle partnered by Mason, and Meyler sitting out after a lethargic second half today. Maguire in for suspended Jake. Marshall Weir Maguire Davies Robertson Clucas Snodgrass Mason Henriksen Mbokani Hernandez Jakupovic Elmo Tymon Huddlestone Maloney Diomande Keane
Should he have been sent off, what are the rules with penalties? It's time to see new signings after this defeat, must look at the match fitness and impact of new players.
Why would you play Weir at RB? He's an attacking player? Marshall Elmo Maguire Davies Tymon Weir Mason Henriksen Clucas Mbokani Bowen
You thought Meyler was lethargic second half??? What stream were you watching? He was playing in a side with ten men. He kept going and going and going. He was involved in the move for the penalty. He never stopped , neither did any of them, apart from Hernandez who shoulda been hooked 20 minuutes earlier.
the point is that so far nobody has deserved to be dropped. being dropped without deserving it is not good for morale.
Of course they have. Burnley were absolutely dire we should have beaten them easily not relied on a last gasp equaliser.
Marshall Elmo Maguire Davies Robertson Maloney Henriksen Mason Weir Keane Mbokani Not sure how best they all fit together. Maybe 4-3-3 I dunno. But it's surely got to be that 11 or very close to it hasn't it? I do worry about Robertson or Davies getting injured but there's no one else. Maybe start Tymon?
some games are like that. doesn't necessarily mean someone should be dropped. anyway, there'll be changes from now.
Weir played midfield as captain for Man U. U-21's. However he is versatile and was also used as RB on occasion.
Bucky on ESPN: Positives The spirit shown will have pleased Mike Phelan. A cricket score felt likely early in the second half against an Arsenal side swarming all over their depleted hosts, but the same desire that had secured seven points from the previous four league games spared an embarrassment. Sam Clucas, who was playing nonleague football in the Conference four years ago, typified that attitude and never looked out of place against Arsenal's household names. Lively cameos from new boys Ryan Mason and Dieumerci Mbokani were also encouraging. Negatives Supporters took satisfaction from the dogged manner of this defeat, but there will be concerns where the next Premier League point will come from now. A trip to Liverpool and then a home game with Chelsea are the only league fixtures remaining before the next international break. An inability to finally sort Phelan's future as manager has also become a needless backing track to the season. Phelan suggested his long-term position could soon be secure, but it beggars belief it has taken this long. Manager rating out of 10 6 -- The caretaker boss went with the same XI for a fifth straight game but will perhaps regret his loyalty now. Arsenal had done their homework and committed bodies forward. Their slick passing then did the rest. http://www.espnfc.co.uk/club/hull-c...ss-show-spirit-in-hull-home-defeat-to-arsenal
I didn't find it funny at all. Ruined the game. City well in it up till then. Penalty? No problem. It hit his outstretched hand. Deliberate / sending off? Very very harsh.
I'm ok with Tymon starting, give him a chance. Put those youngsters we had earlier in the cup (Bowen, Olley) at the very least on the bench.
