Championship side Bristol City have been linked with a move for Lyon forward Claudio Beauvue.
Reports in France have suggested that the Championship outfit are looking to strike a deal for the striker, who has featured 28 times for Lyon this season.
The 28-year-old is said to be on the way out of the Ligue 1 club after failing to appear for training in recent days. Premier League Aston Villa were recently linked with a move for Beauvue, but now it appears that Bristol City are looking to fight off competition from around Europe.
The forward has featured 19 times for Lyon in Ligue 1 this season, scoring five and assisting two. He has also played in all six of Lyon’s Champions League fixtures.
He is also capped internationally, having made two appearances for Guadeloupe.
Bristol City are in talks with Bolton for forward Zach Clough, although it is rumoured that the youngster is reluctant to make the move to the fellow relegation rivals.
City have the financial resources to match Lyon’s asking price for the player, which is believed to be around £4.5 million.
