Just read a very very interesting article on TWTD, and researched the net a bit....... According to La Tercera, Civelli will move to Santiago for a fee worth around $1.8 million (â¬1.5m), forming a major part of the U's renovation efforts for the 2012 Clausura. Not sure how much he did go for in the end, however, the move has gone through! http://www.goal.com/en/news/60/sout...-civelli-close-to-universidad-de-chile-switch This got me thinking about the amount of players we've paid off / let go for too little / and also, free transfers.......... The TWTD article revealed this - 2012/13 Jaime Peters - free Caolan Lavery - free 2011/12 Shane O'Connor - free Jamie Griffiths - free Luciano Civelli - free Connor Wickham - £7.9m rising to £12m (approx) Ian McLoughlin - free Tom Eastman - free Troy Brown - free Connor Hourihane - free Billy Clark - free David Cawley - free 2010/2011 Owen Garvan £250k Ed Upson - free Devann Yao - free 2009/2010 Paul Watson - free Shane Supple - retired Jordan Rhodes £880k rising to £1.5m (approx) Danny Haynes £528k Billy Clarke - free Matt Richards - free (was only 24!) Jai Reason - free Chris Casement - free Dean Bowditch - free Liam Trotter - £215k Not really looked into how accurate this is etc as have only just skimmed it, however we do give good players away far too often!
Could be a contract thing. I know we have to wear our black kit a certain amount of times a season, like last week at Reading.
The list is missing McCauley, Bullard, Ingi, Bowyer, Sonko, Healy, Priskin, R Wright but it does go to show that the powers that be have no ****in' clue on how to run a club. How much potential revenue have we either just let go, or worse, paid off?
Ben Thatcher as well in 2009-10 and did we get anything for Fulop? The list is at least an entire squad's worth.
