Man City that is. Seems the club listened to the fans views on what it should look like, novel idea. Personally I think the name looks a bit common. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-35174237
Looks good (apart from having the name on, but then they don't understand marketing) Why a ship though...Manchester is miles from the coast
Oh look they've gone and updated an old badge and reintroduced the name on it too. What silly people. Do they know nothing of marketing? Need to take a page from 1904 AFC's books.
Manchester used to be a major port city, despite being 36 miles from the sea (3rd biggest in the UK), the Manchester Ship Canal linked the city to the Mersey.
You could have guess it would look roughly like that given the New York City and Melbourne City badges are both very similar. Its all part of the branding and marketing masterplan, if only our Egyptian overlord was consulted before they designed it, they could have avoided the embarrassing error of having the club name on it.
Well it's not that popular with their actual fans but hey, it's got the name on it eh? Really? Is that still bothering some of you? Do you forget who you support? I actually feel sorry for some of you. That badge btw, is representative of the franchise they are effectively a part of. I'm a little surprised some of you still hold that club up on a pedestal.
Oh FFS If I'm going to toss in bait I don't expect to get you tangled up in the net! I've raced on the Manchester Ship Canal ... about 100 years ago when I was fit !
This badge is their old badge which they used for years until some time in the 90s. I actually remember it changing via my old sticker books. The fact many don't recognise it gives evidence to their recent interest in football, the ones on here in particular probably coinciding with the date 24/05/08. All proper Man City fans are happy about it, most of their 'fans' are not, but when you look these supporters generally come from Essex and their facebook albums show pictures of them from 5 years ago wearing Liverpool tops with their names printed on the back.
