Just two days to go now - seems like it's crept up on us! Predictions? I tend to be pessimistic and hope for the best, and I was deflated a bit by the lacklustre Portsmouth game, so I'm going to say 1-1. They'll be pumped in their first game back and take the lead midway through the first half and we'll limp to halftime, when LJ gives them a bit of a rollicking. We'll get more into it the longer it goes on, until we finally scramble an equaliser - either a Flint header from a set piece or a bit of Tomlin magic.
Nahh this is a game we should win comfortably, especially if we are looking at the top end of the table come the season end.
This is a game where we are going to have to settle down, and play it calmly yes we have had a few games where we have played as a team but .... .... I think every manager in this league knows it could turn out to be the hardest one for a long time .... each year 6 new teams .... and coming down from the prem is giving them more and more of an edge.. The 3 this season are awash with cash ... what they get given is more than most wont turn over in 3 years!
A sad reflection on how money has ruined the game forever and the possibility of lower tier teams achieving something special (Leicester) will soon to be laid to rest by the money people. I think we are facing a long hard season and despite the initial boost of changes being made we now seem to have settled in to our usual lethargy and think things will be fine just as long as we find reasons and excuses not to succeed. The kick off is nigh and have we really done enough to improve our lot - only time and tide will tell the real story? Or will we be looking over our shoulders come January time and wondering why things stay the same, including the promises. I really hope not for the faithful who have put their heart and soul in to the club and after however many years of suffering would finally like to see some real success. Bring it on City for all of us.
The first few games are always a bit random - for example, when, despite all their premiership titles, did Man Utd ever leap strongly out of the traps? The season usually settles down after about 10 games.
This ought to be a fairly comfortable home win, but I need to remind myself that this is City after all...!! With Norwich, Newcastle and Villa to come soon, we need a minimum 4 points from these first two league games, and in all honesty we should be looking at getting all 6 from Wigan at home and Burton away. Less than 4 points and the knives will start to be sharpened by some.
That is ridiculous Angelic - you know that don't you ? Knife sharpening after 2 GAMES ? Maybe after 10, but really we must have a little more patience than that. This is Bristol not Barcelona
Kodija, Tammy and Tomlin, very very promising. Let's hope we have a game plan to go with this talent.
Looks like they will be without Grigg: http://www.wigantoday.net/sport/wig...ws/injury-fear-for-strike-ace-grigg-1-8051836? His fire has been put out!!
