The 96th Severnside derby takes centre stage at Ashton Gate. Dean Holden's men look to stretch an unbeaten home streak to five games when Mick McCarthy's side head to BS3 this afternoon. And the Robins could secure a first Severnside league double since the 2002/03 season, after Chris Martin's goal secured a 1-0 win in the reverse fixture in November. The match will be live streamed from 2.30 on Robins TV. Gerry Sweeney will appear as a pre-kick-off guest as the club marks the 39th anniversary of the Ashton Gate Eight crisis. Rene Gilmartin will guest as summariser. Follow the matchday centre for in-game updates and get match alerts via the app. Team news will follow here at 2pm

The ex-Bournemouth striker took just three minutes to convert Jon Stead's cross from the right, before Stead later set up Lee johnson to double the Robins’ lead in a similar move later on. The Severnside derby was then wrapped up when Jamal Campbell-Ryce coolly finished the third, while Cardiff came closest when Michael Chopra hit the post.
Surely we can't lose this game? Cardiff are in as bad, if not worse from than us. Let's hope the positive elements from the Brentford game are continued today, if we do we should be ok. Apart from Moore up front, Cardiff don't have much else in terms of good quality in their side this season, so hoping Mawson and Kalas can keep him in their back pocket.
Well at least our team selection has the look approaching a decent midfield, it will take time for them to gel (if they can stay fit) but lets hope we can see some 'green shoots' of what we can expect from them.
Never been a problem before, be surprised if it is today, fingers crossed. Be interesting to see the fitness of Lansbury and Williams. Our biggest problem is probably going to be the full back area.
Interesting comment here on the official site? I thought Lansbury was on-loan or did I miss something?
been excessively busy last week or so but I think he was signed ON CONTRACT TO END OF SEASON? ..should he do well in say first 6 or so games "fit in" likely may get new contract [ 1 year with 1 year option? ]
Men against boys as usual, Mariappa was **** for the 2nd goal no attempt at a block. Thats what happens when you don't sign a specialist left back. So far same old same old, we are vulnerable against physical teams, just like Rowett said.
Jesus they go down with fantom injuries and without any contact, Wilson should have been booked for his dive. The ref is being conned big style.
Only plus from this, is me and my Cardiff ST work mate argued who was worse out of us and them. At least I won that argument.
