City have not lost a match yet but has had quite a few draws. United has lost a few matches but then win most of the others and have very few draws. Is it possible that City could go undefeated through the season but still lose the title to United? Has this ever happened in any league..anywhere?
Perugia once finished second in Serie A having won something like a third of their games and drawing the rest.
Benfica in 78 and Perugia in 79. Juve were behind Milan in the league last season with six games to go - Juve only won the league after Milan threw it away. Always worth remembering this two when l'Arse fans start pontificating the going undefeated is somehow better than actually winning something...
Absolutely. Their achievement at the time was winning the bloody title. At the time I said going undefeated was no f**king big deal. Teams could draw most of their matches therefore not win the title. Rare but not implausible. I can see City going undefeated through the season but because of their draws United pipping them to the title
City will lose eventually, honestly don't think there will be any team that goes undefeated in the premier league again. The PL gets more competitive each year, and it'll be much tougher to not drop all 3 points IMO.
Oh well No more undefeated run. And it falls to mighty United to end it all I think we have a good chance of winning the title this year. We need to keep our strike force lean and hungry...
Its possible to go undefeated and be relegated in. 38 draws = 38 points and thats probably going to send you down.
Rare as hen's teeth. I think THAT has never happened. Great match yesterday. More than 3 points it was the psychological blow. In a week during which they got dumped out of Europe they needed to believe that they still had the premiership title under control.
