68 Points would more likely see us finishing 5th. The average points for 5th since the Prem was cut to 20 teams in 95/96 is 63.62. 4th 68.24. Last season 68 points would have left us in 4th. Christmas is cancelled everyone. We need to save for another European adventure.
Injuries can still change everything, so far we've done well there since Phelan took over. With Bruce in charge I can't help but think we would have had a training ground injury by now. We even avoided getting an injury in the international break. I think we should, as it stands, be better than other relegation favourites, though we said that in the last relegation season. Burnley are just workmanlike, so are Sunderland based on last night's debacle. We seem solid defensively as usual, how well we do will be based on how much cutting edge we have at the other end and for me that's still unclear as we haven't seen much of the new signings yet.
Really.....err ok then I can't help but thinking people are being a little over optimistic at the moment
I was going to say we are going to win the league by a 10 point margin but that would be ridiculous thing to say.
Well take our full Prem record P156 W34 D42 L80 Total Points 144. Average of 0.92 points a game. So we would finish on 38 points. Which is the average number of points to finish 17th. This all means nothing obviously but I'm confident we'll stay up.
