Are we to read anything into the fact that Hooper and Becchio are included but NOT RvW? http://www.canaries.co.uk/news/article/20140710-dereham-town-preview-1737906.aspx
it really is beginning to look as though either adams or the club are trying to force rvw out of the club. very, very annoying if so. no surprise about bassong - he didn't even travel with the squad to st george's park.
Seems as if the club want RvW out and he wants to stay, yet Hooper wants out and the club wants him to stay. The only other explanation is RvW will go to the Braintree game instead of Hooper or another forward.
Sorry, didn't see this thread when I commented on this on the Mega thread: Sadly, it does look more and more like both RvW and Bassong will be leaving. First the number changes and now not being included in the squad for the Dereham game. Olsson's exclusion may be because of his shoulder. Wes and Pilks have been excluded because they are not back after RoI duties. On the other hand, Hooper and Redmond have been included, so that's positive at least. I'm not sure we can draw any conclusions about who is doing the 'forcing', if there is any. It does seem that the club may be considering approaches for RvW and Bassong, and maybe Olsson as well.
As we do currently have too many strikers if the squad is limited to 21 it makes sense not to take all of them. Adams has also said nothing that happens on Saturday will reflex any initial plans for wolves. Does look bad for Wolfie though which is a massive shame.
Obviously as Rick says we don't know who is doing the forcing. If it's the club then they're making a huge mistake in my opinion. If it's Ricky then he's making a huge mistake too. The only way he'll ever play in the Premier League again is if it's initially with us. Of course, he could just be injured.
poor old becchio, i really do hope we let him go and get on with his career... bassong is a funny one, i wouldn't be surprised if there was more to his situation than we know...
Becchio is in the squad Gruffnuts! He's sure to get 45 minutes to show what he can do. Personally I think he could be a good player for us this year.
On an unrelated matter I work in the same place with someone who plays for Dereham Town and he's the biggest idiot ever, I dislike him a LOT, so I'm hoping NCFC will hammer them even if it's only a friendly lol. But I'm not reading anything in some NCFC players not being picked to play, I'll wait until we player bigger/better teams and see what happens.
Does feel a few are jumping to conclusions but with all that's gone on over the last few weeks I can understand. I'd rather wait until a few pre season games have been played to see how Adams is going to set up and the personnel he wants to use. Glad to see Surman in that squad, hope he gets a good bit of play time. Quite a different scenario to the last time we played Dereham when Cody got a brace and The Admiral got the other!
Of course none of us knows what's going on behind the scenes and we just have to wait to see how things pan out. We don't know why RvW isn't in the squad or even whether we are close to selling him and don't want to risk injury. Or perhaps he is saying one thing in public and another thing in private. Who knows? I'll make a general comment, though. If we as fans are being asked to give Adams a fair shot and not judge him before a ball has been kicked, then Adams should give RvW the same benefit of the doubt if he genuinely wants to stay.
