http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32781819 Quote.. * Used to go and watch City with his dad... * Thought Garland was a genius.. * He understands now we need each other... We need each other like a hole in the head and he is still a liar and a two faced scroat...
I've always liked Holloway. He is one gashead who I can imagine having a good old drink with and enjoying the banter. Very witty - but intelligent with it. The 'they need each other' bit was probably meant as a bit of a prod with a stick to the city fans - and it worked! (why do we 'need' Rovers? They are irrelevant!) I suppose having 2 successful teams (like Liverpool and Everton, or Man U and Man City) would raise the temperature a bit - and would be fantastic for Bristol, but to be honest I don't think we'll see that in my lifetime. However, seeing CITY have a pop at the Prem is a definite possibility and the future for us is VERY exciting! I'll worry about the Gas as and if we have to play them.
Whether you like him or not he is a character who loves the sport and deserves a lot more credit than he gets from some people. I gather he said some things about us that rankled the faithful but he is correct in saying that Bristol needs us both, and in these ridiculously difficult times for teams to survive financially his words in the interview rang true. A pre season friendly might fit the bill in the "welcome back" department but many may or will disagree.
'We need each other like a hole in the head and he is still a liar and a two faced scroat...' Bloody hell Wiz, Banksy doesn't need any help firing up.
Wonder what would have happened had he mentioned LJ.. never seen you miss a chance to comment on that particular individual.. Wiz not entitled to his opinion then? Like I said on another thread RP, you need a nice big mirror and a chance to have a good long look in it!
Exactly, I really can't understand this Holloway love in from some City fans...Ask yourself, why did he mention Bristol City in that interview? He wasn't asked about them, and when has he ever said his Dad took him to Ashton Gate before ?
' The only good City Fan is a dead one' and I for one will never forget that he shouted that to all those "gasheads" from the top of that bus, the ignoramus...
You do need your local rivals - imagine football without all that banter I actually get on quite well with the guys on the other board - they are football fans just like us - as long as no-one crosses the line then local rivalry is healthy
Did he say anything wrong in the interview, imo no.......met the bloke some years ago now & we both had a good long chat about our two clubs, he was sincere in what he said about City, but his blood is blue & thats not his fault...dam well glad mine is red.
Who gives a $hit what Hollowhead thinks!! He is blue through and through, so to me it reeks of the Sags needing us far more than we need them. I think the bloke is a bell-end, and embarrasses the City of Bristol more than he promotes it!!
