City had a 5 year plan, pick up promising young players, mould them to " first team standard" and hopefully get the carrot at the end of it...……….. it had one WEAK link, [hindsight ] kicking in was ……. MA . It failed, failed because the original plan build for the future was constantly undermined ...family silver was sold and partial rebuilding disrupted the flow of a settled team.

NP DISASTEROUS START [ 20/21 ] .. [ I don't really know who I would have put in his [ NP ] place but we have him so fair do's. Whatever happens this season next season will need to be a lot more stable with the potential to kick off with a positive 1.7+ average points a game! and a settled squad that will likely make it for 2 or 3 season without to much tinkering.

to be honest it was all a bit unnerving LOST LOST LOST >>>>>…………. Then the clearout … don't think anyone actually would agree all shown the door, for free, to boot! was in order …. but again Hindsight … had to make room for potential and save wages …

    this season NP seems to have settled on a robust experience orientated defense / midfield Simpson [34 ] James [ 30 ] King [ 32 ] Baker [ 30 ] Kalas [ 28 ]

    Up front, experience! again! Martin [ 32 ] Wells [ 31 ] and Weimann [ 30 ] that's 8 of 10 ….out field.

There are potentially 22 players [ now and potential for next season ] between 19 and 25 to fill 2 gaps, and 6 subs, also to act as cover.

6 centre forwards ……. including Semenyo, Pearson Bell Janneh
10 " midfield" ………… including Massengo Bakinson Scott Pring [also full back ] Palmer O Dowda Williams Morton
6 defenders …. ……… including Pearson Towler DaSilva Tanner Cundy

When you look at this it is a fairly balanced offering, weakest department though does seem defence [ just a back 4 , other formations available 3 or 5! lol ]
Midfield looks good for a couple more seasons
    Forward line has future depth!

2021/22 has to be consolidation, should we find ourselves top 2 or Wembley winners would it be ….. prem with a strong bungy cord attached to championship or PREM and a miracle £30 - 40m available ..

On paper it all looks good to be honest, a map for the future … may just be coming together. [ injuries aside ] with a bit of game time made for fringe players and its obvious incentives, for the rest of the season 1.7 pts a game is possible? top 6 anyone?
