I posted this on OTIB and it seemed to annoy a few people.. lets see how it fares on here.. http://www.thisisbri...tail/story.html ****'n hate it when our crap players come out with tripe like this, how many times have over the years have managers and players said we're on the way back up.. only to lose the next 10 games. Just consentrate on your game ffs, or in fosters case consentrate on hoofing it to the opposition for 90 minutes.
When/if approached by the media to give a sound bite, what did you want him to say as a professional footballer ? Maybe that he doesnt believe we can survive in this league ? Or that he dislikes the manager and the other players and has no faith in their ability ? Or that he thinks this was a bad career move ? Etc
I am not able to see all of City's games like some supporters so it is impossible to be able to judge 100% of the performances of individuals. A couple or three years back a not significant number of City fans poured out a continuing stream of vitriol against another Scottish full back. Yet when he moved on to Yeovil it was refreshing that the silent majority fully acknowledged Jamie MacAllister's contribtion to the cause. Now I see that Richard Foster is being singled out. This is grossly unfair on a player who has willingly changed position to suit the team. As the City I-Player video highlights concentrate on goalmouth action, I have noticed how often Foster is the last man behind the other defenders, rescuing the ball and blocking shots. In fact if he had not been covering the others in the last minute at Wednesday, one against three attackers, we would not have gained the win that was so badly needed. I also see him making runs forward most times when Albert has the ball. In fact I remember against Cardiff he ran 80 yards up the touchline to give Albert an option and could well have scored if Albert had passed the ball to him and not the other way. No show of petulance, Foster just went back to his defensive position. Yes he may play too may long balls forward, but the reason for that is simple. The whole team is scared of the ball being in our defensive third and all are getting it away as far as possible. Increasing self confidence and a midfielder general who can accept the ball and keep it under pressure will see a big reduction in this type of clearance. So City fans, lets stop knocking individuals; it's a team game. PS. Ask the other players what they think of Foster and I sure the answers will be positive!
If a player is to remain professional he will either say what the manager has instructed him to say or he will say nothing at all.
I know that being a City fan makes each of us extremely cynical but there is a third option red - that he honestly believes what he says! Or is that wishful thinking on my part...
To be honest he was brought in last season to play left back which isnt his natual position and looked awful. One of the worse we have had. End of last season he played right wing and looked decent keeping Albert out of the team as he has some pace on him and not the worse crosser. Start of this season he started well at right back and built up a good partnership with Albert on the right but Del kept moving him around the pitch and he was also in and out of the team to try and play Marc Wilson (makes foster look amazing) and think foster has lost the consistancy he had at the start of the season. Foater isnt the best we have had but his scottish so didnt cost too much
Sounds like a repeat of Liam's quote that the team had found new confidence after the win at Middlesborough and we all know what happened after that comment. Let's face it they have to say these positive things but I just wish they could turn their words in to action rather than spouting this ineffective rubbish. The proof of the pudding starts this afternoon with the visit of Derby and when you win the game then please feel free to say that we are back to some kind of form with back to back wins. Now that would be something to cheer about, so now it's down to you the players.
Just as **** as the rest of them. What do our idiotic players come out and say stupid ****ing things like this after one win Getting really ****ed off with our club atm
I remember fontaine said that confidence is flowing back into the team after the Boro win.. only to lose our next two games.. Now this scottish idiot comes up with **** like this and we lose AGAIN with him being our worst player.. Just unbelivable
