We've yet to see a club from the top of a major european league get nailed for over spending, Malaga who are not a top side in their league got done for being broke as have most clubs who have been punished.

I wouldn't be stunned if City were the first of such clubs to face a stiff penalty<whistle>

Nothing to happen to the chavs, If anything were done to Chelsea some folk at UEFA would be sipping some polonium tea<laugh>

If true the fail article, it is a slight conflict of interest given Gill is still a board member but its ok, corruption in football.. NEVER!

If you look on the Uefa board, lots of them are tied in with Barca.

The biggest issue with malaga was the fact that the club had stopped paying their staff and making payment installments to the teams they had acquired players from.
The main reason this was an FFP issue was because they were a club that was bought by an owner with deep pockets and when he basically got bored with football obviously brought about by the financial dominance of madrid and barca taking nearly 50% of the la liga television revenue, he stopped spending his own money and because malaga did not have any money of its own, they went in to financial meltdown and all the previous payments they were making suddenly stopped, hence the reason why UEFA have taken the action that they did.

With regards to the FFP concerning clubs like City, Chelsea, Monaco, and PSG, even though these clubs obviously have owners with deep pockets and i do not see these owners leaving anytime soon or becoming bored because there is no financial discrepancy in the epl whilst in france PSG are the biggest team right now and Monaco play in a Tax haven so it easier to take over a club like that, even though i will never understand why any top player like (Falcao,) will want to play in front of a 15000 capacity crowd every other week,

Issues surrounding clubs especially like portsmouth has given UEFA a reason to bring in a system that will limit an owner spending his own money in a club because when that owner loses interest and maybe decides to recoup the money he has spent, there will be no way the club will be able to pay him back for instance if Roman Abramovic or Sheik Mansour decided to stop investing their own money in to their clubs, will the club be self sustainable, or what if they decided that they wanted to sell the club on, will they value the club at the right price or will they inflate the value due to the investments thay have already made in the club and if that was the case, who would be able to afford these clubs because, these owners have probably spent more than quadruple the value of the club in player investments and infrastructure such as new training gounds etc.
