http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/ar...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 Daily Mail article suggesting/guessing that Man City may be after Toby (just as we've learnt to spell his name as well ). Could delete City and insert United/Arsenal/Chelsea.....we are going to hear lots of this between now and the summer.
Would be great to secure his signature and keep that centre back pairing but would not be disastrous as I'm sure we are attractive to other top players now.
Lets be honest , who thought this was not likely ? IMHO he will not sign for us long term , I wish him well if he decides to move on . He was brought here to do a job , he has done that very very well . He has made no promises false or otherwise , no badge kissing etc ...... If he moves on , I for one , will wish him all the best . A thorough proffesional IMHO . Having said all that , hope he stays !!!!
Great player, I'd be very surprised if managed to sign him up, there must be a host of clubs tracking him?
I suspect we won't sign him and he made us no promises, but wouldn't it be lovely if the unexpected happened just once.
This is exactly how I feel. Would love him to stay, as he is pure class, but let's be honest he would fit in at any club side in world football.
Will be brilliant if Koeman could pull this signing off, but probably unlikely. Gardos has actually looked good this year and I think will be a worthy replacement.
Wasn't expecting anything less, but if anyone can, Ronald can. I suspect Atletico will want to keep Toby in any case.
Ronald's answer in today's press conference: "I hope, I hope - we know the situation. We like to keep him in Southampton, but he needs that feeling as well. We hope that we will have an answer on that in one or two months."
That's interesting comment... or he's just pushing that pressure away for a bit. Oh please do it. Let's have a good old Toby Alderweireld sing song on Sunday
He's got an awkward name for a song though, the only one I can think of is the old John Viafara song.
