16 more games to go and a lot can happen. I will be ecstatic if we finish in the top four but realistically we are still the underdogs with our lack of experience and squad depth. That doesn't stop me hoping though. I really want to upset the 'big' teams.

To be honest, I think most of the football supporting country, media and pundits want us to succeed in doing so. The media may have to concentrate on the big teams to ensure an audience, but the spirit in the UK of supporting the underdog hasn't totally disappeared. Once they take their professional suits off they're as rabid about a David and Goliath match up as the rest of us.

Not a great set of results this weekend but looking ahead we have some good fitures coming up in the next few weeks that could help us along

31/1
WHU v Liv
Che v Man C
7/2
Tot v Ars
8/2
WHU v Man U
10/2
Liv v Tot

Theres alot of potentially dropped points there so if we can keep our run going we might just be able to see a gap form below us

Whether we can or can't catch City really doesn't come into it for me. The difference between finishing 2nd and 3rd is negligible in my view.

There is a slightly bigger difference between 3rd and 4th, I accept - because one gives automatic CL qualification, and the other requires you to enter the final qualifying round. But even with that in mind, I'm really not fussed between 3rd and 4th either (though I might be in a couple of months time, should we find ourselves well clear of 5th).

Fundamentally the difference lies between finishing 4th and 5th. Only the differences between 1st and 2nd, and 17th and 18th, are bigger. So if you accept that Man City are going to finish in the top four - and this is surely a near certainty, and definitely something which the majority expect - then I really don't give a monkies about them and where they finish within the top four. It's all about ensuring that we're in the top four as well, for me. Whether that is above or below City, I really do not care.

There is a difference in disbursement of CL funds for finishing 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th, but yeah...top four's the accomplishment, top 2/3 would just be icing on a giant cake made of unicorns and Krugerrands.
