Although from what I've read today the Grenier deal is a long way from looking even remotely close.

Wouldn't even think about it, mate. People say all kinds of crap, they are rarely speaking about what's happening behind the scenes. I mean, how many times has Gomis been on his way? We'd also signed Johnny Heitinga, according to West Ham. Hopefully we'll pick up a couple more players before Saturday, but I'm not overly concerned - I think it's time to give Hatem the No10, personally, though granted we do have a hole to fill in the squad.

With a bit of luck and a following breeze, Hatem can become a £35m player in the next year - then sell and buy another 4. We'll be challenging at the very top within 3 years if we keep on track and keep our heads.

 

Mind you, £8m is a lot of money to pay for losing Cisse, I was hoping we'd get rid for a lot cheaper.

According to Lee Ryder Cisse was on an outgoing flight from Newcastle the other day, and he thinks he might be a deadline day leaver.
