""" PREMIER LEAGUE Press - Djibril Cissé wants QPR exit in January Reports this evening from Manchester indicate that Djibril Cissé issued a 'let me leave' plea to QPR soon after the final whistle at Old Trafford. Cissé has found it difficult to adapt to life at the Hoops since his move and the the sacking of Mark Hughes on Friday is believed to have made his mind up. Cissé joined QPR in January of this year on a 2½ year deal worth approximately £60k per week, but has failed to find popularity with the home crowd. Cissé, 31, was subject to a dressing down by QPR fans last week via his Twitter page when he was told by a supporter he âcouldnât hit a cowâs arse with a banjoâ following his teamâs 3-1 defeat against Southampton. He arrived at QPR at the start of this year with Bobby Zamora and directly attributed his move to Mark Hughes. Cisse speaking in January said of Hughes: "He wanted to sign me at Manchester City and now I am finally here with him at QPR" Cissé, although keen to leave London, is said to be happy back in England. He previously lived in the North West and sources close to the Frenchman say he would prefer a move back to that part of the country. Premier League Press ""
Well, if you are paid big money, miss a lot of important games because you have been sent off, are supposed to be a striker but don't find the net enough and are consistently off-side with not a sideways glance to check .... then of course you will not be popular with the fans!
Short memories though after his big contribution last season. And currently our only fit, recognised striker. Will leave us needing 2 or 3 strikers if he were to go.
He did us reasonably well last season but has strayed this season with too many 'drama-queen' performances and off field issues. All I know is we don't need anyone who isn't 100% in it to fight our way out of this. As far as the players and us fans go, it is either all or nothing. We fans are 100% committed ............. are all the players?
Well I'm sure Bolton or Blackburn will take him on a free. Not much of a market for a non goalscoring goal scorer though is there? Seems like London is too big a pool for this particular little fish. Score some goals, the world will seem like a different place.
I can't take an article seriously without quotes. This article just smacks of assumption and lazy journalism.
He's probably hankering for a move back to Liverpool. They need another striker. Maybe we can swap him for Sterling.
Agree. I can think of a few of our players I wouldn't object to if they wanted to leave, but Cisse isn't one of them. Still feel an on-form Cisse would have much to offer. He's highly strung and a prima donna, and I dare say the banjo jibe has been playing on his mind. Obviously, Harry has inherited an unhappy camp generally. A few wins, a few goals for Cisse and accompanied adulation from fans, and I'm sure he'll opt to stay.
If you put his sendings off to one side, he did a very good job for us last year. Some on this board quickly felt he could become a "legend". Now he's going through a bad patch, he needs our encouragement rather than grenade attacks via Twitter. How fickle we are! We don't have too many strikers atm so we need to persevere with him, despite his prima donna tendencies. With the right management and support, I am sure he can still be a very effective goal scorer.
Precisely why I wouldn't go anywhere near places like Twitter if I were a 'sleb'... Come to think of it, I don't anyway!
Oslo that's tosh. You're only as good as your last game in this business and this season he has been nothing short of disgraceful with his attitude. Remember, when he was playing well last season, he was being recompensed outrageously for it. US$96,096 per week? Scandalous for a small Club like ours.
Good, his lack of effort is shocking, wont run for anything unless its a perfect pass for him. Obviously we have to replace him. As arry said, he wont put up with players that just stand there with hands on hips when the ball is lost which is Cisse in a nutshell.
he did deliver a perfect cross for Mackie's offside goal against ManU, and i think he did work a bit more in last game compared to some previous ones, but only saw the game from a live stream, so could be wrong.
Agree entirely. Some of our fans are extremely fickle. As Brix says, anybody(especially footballers) who go near Twitter need their head examined. Would the people giving the abuse have the balls to say these things to the players faces? I doubt it. Sums them up.
