QPR striker Djibril Cisse will return to action in "a week to 10 days", according to manager Mark Hughes, after the Frenchman suffered a hamstring injury in a pre-season friendly.

The 30-year-old, who joined the west London club in January, was substituted for new signing Andy Johnson in the 20th minute against Kelantan, after he stated to Hughes that he had felt a problem in his hamstring.

The Welshman was pleased with Cisse's honesty in his side's 5-0 win over the Malaysian outfit and thinks the ex-Liverpool player will return soon.

He told the club's official website: "Djib felt some reaction in his hamstring. He did the right thing by coming off quickly so that he didn't do any more damage.

"We're hopeful that it's just a slight strain and nothing more serious than that.

"We'll have to wait for a couple of days before it settles down and then we can make a more definite decision.

"It's probably too early to make a guess on how long he'll be out for, but we don't really want him to be training at this time of the season.

"You have to be cautious and take precautions so that injuries don't occur.

"We're hopeful it won't be any longer than a week to 10 days, but it's too early to say for definite."

Good to hear. We can't afford his absense against Swansea&Norwich. Well, on the second thought maybe we can afterall.
