CISSE GOOD VALUE AT QPR Ladbrokes: 9 August 2012 Reproduced with permission from Ladbrokes.com More Sharing ServicesShare | Share on facebookShare on myspaceShare on googleShare on twitter Djibril Cisse had a more than eventful half-season at QPR last season, after joining from Lazio for an undisclosed fee in January. Sent off twice in eight games for the club, Cisse also scored six times, making the 2/1 about him top scoring for the Rs this term look a terrific bet. Only penalty taker Heidar Helguson and Jamie Mackie scored more Hoops goals during the last campaign, with Cisse falling just two goals short of top scorer Helguson. The fact that Helguson racked up his tally with the benefit of 11 more games than Cisse would also seem to bode well for the aforementioned bet this term. It is worth noting too that the last time Cisse spent a full season in the Premier League, he outscored his teammates, when notching 10 times during Sunderland's 2008/2009 campaign. He then went on to top score in both of his years at next permanent club Panathinaikos, when he bagged in excess of 40 league goals across two seasons. Such exploits earned Cisse hero status in Greece, and he currently enjoys a similar reputation at Loftus Road, after his goals essentially clinched QPR's Premier League survival last year. The 30-year-old is sure to be a regular starter in the coming season, and if he can improve his discipline, an even healthier goals-to-game ratio could result for the striker. Among the teammates vying to outscore Cisse meanwhile, Bobby Zamora will need to improve on his exploits of last season to justify 3/1 odds. Ex-Fulham striker Zamora found the net just twice after signing for QPR in January, and, not renowned as a natural goalscorer, looks worth avoiding in this market. Andrew Johnson looks the main danger at 5/1, though he has traditionally performed better in other competitions rather than the league recently. This has been proved by consecutive league tallies of just three strikes, and so Cisse looks far and away the best option to top score for the Rs this season. All Odds and Markets are correct as of the date of publishing.
Crazy odds. If he stays free from serious injury (and/or suspension) he has no serious competition (unless we sign another top class striker).
It would be good odds if he was a regular starter What you are forgetting is we may play with Zamora up front on his own to make room for Taarabt to have more of a free role behind
This is a joke right? Even in a crazy 4-5-1 i'd have him up top. One of the first names on the team sheet for me.
We need some one to put in 15-20 goals and Cisse is the man, don't see Bobby, AJ, AT, JM or anyone else filling this roll. If he isn't on the way to that by Xmas, we will be in the market for an additional striker. Must have a regular goals scorer, the rest will chip in but that won't be enough by it's self.
4-5-1 is a ****ing crazy idea, i'm sure nobody has thought of it before Don't think i'll waste my breath talking about someone to hold the ball up Cisse would be first choice up front in a 4-4-2
If your tooth is like the olympic gold medals then next to nothing 1.34 percent gold http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rc...dLWnpXE_tmWNItCpQ&sig2=DjE3QK-0uSeCJueuMr8doA
Fine then, I will be wrestling bears for money on Shepherds Bush Green all weekend to raise cash to put on this bet. If cash is not a viable payment option, a ham and cheese sandwich will suffice
That reports echos pretty much what many think. I honestly cant see many goals in the QPR strikeforce for next season - it needs rectifying urgently. Cisse - a good goalscorer and we rely on him - should get 10-15 goals Zamora - not really a prolific striker - may get between 5-10 goals Johnson - well, his record says it all - will be lucky to get 5 goals That imo is not enough for a team looking for a mid table finish at all. The midfield should chip in with a few goals - but last season they didnt contribute apart from Mackie really. Hopefully this year that will be resolved with the likes of Hoilett, Tarbs, Mackie etc.. But imo we really do need another striker.
